| Subject: On a 99Riv are the factory plug wires Packard or AC Delco? Sat Jul 19, 2008 4:34 pm | |
| While doing maintenance on the fleet I noticed that the 95PA and the 00Regal both have AC Delco plug wires and the 99Riv has Packard wires.
I know the wires on the Regal have been replaced, not sure about the PA.
Did the 99 Riv come from the factory with Packard plug wires?

| I seem to recall Packard and AC Delco both sharing the OEM role for plug wires in the '90s. I also learned from a dealer that when you buy AC Delco wires from the dealer, even they aren't always the same as what shipped on your car. In other words, the 'aftermarket' AC Delco wires they sell at the parts counter aren't the same as the AC Delco wires that came from the factory. | |

| Thanks, I was just trying to determine if the wires on the 99 Riv have been replaced. I dont think they have, they are Packard. Bert | |

| To my knowledge all factory wires are numbered. Aftermarkets usually aren't. If they have nunbers on them, I'd assume them to be original. | |

| My factory replacement wires (from the dealer) say "AC/Delco" on the wire, and "Packard" on the end boots. My original wires had nothing on the boots. I believe they are the same product. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |
