| hey i no this isnt for a riviera, but with some custom fabrication, could this work on a riviera? and do you think it would work well? http://www.ppsonline.net/airintake_FrontMount.htm | |

| I don't think that is a good filter setup for our cars. The Intense FWI is a good way to go. | |

| Yeah i think thats more for ricers who want to look like they have a heat exchanger. With that much piping , and that small tubing , and that many bends , i doubt it could outperform most stock intakes , maybe even perform worse.
But yeah i say if you want a complete intake setup already built i'd go with intense's. Or you could just get the tubing from intense or zzp and do it yourself , buy an IAT extension and drop it in the fenderwell , and call it a day. its cheaper but probably doesn't look as proffessional. Doesn't look bad IMO.

Totally agree, i think its more about looks than actuall performance, One thing i dont believe in is form without function, its a cool find and all but i just cant see it in a Rivi. I bet it would look cool in a VW golf, of a focus or something like that though,

| Don't do it. The longer the intake tube is, the worse it flows. Do a FWI, plenty of info here to make your own. | |

It would look cool in a Riviera too, if it was an IC radiator! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| A long intake tube can be compared to a long garden hose. The air or water encounters friction along the inside surface of both. The longer the tube, the more friction the air, or water, encounters. A 2 ft garden hose will flow more water than a 50' garden hose of the same diameter. Of course that intake tube isn't 50 ft long, but it's the same principle. And adding more bends also adds to the restriction of air flow. | |

| And the diameter is probably smaller than you want, considering the cars it is designed for. I don't see dia specs listed anywhere. | |

| That reminds me of the '70s Porsche 914s. They had a crazy intake and cooling system. A buddy of mine has a beautiful '72 (I think) that he and his dad built. I'm trying to find a diagram or some pics of it but to no avail so far. | |
