| Not a tough job but I replaced the SC oil in the rig. Took 1.5 of the original 2 GM Supercharger Oil bottles.
The old stuff was dirty, gritty and smelled terrible. I have no idea how old it was but I figured better save than sorry.
I used a soap pump to get the old stuff out.
I doubt there is any more power or mileage but I feel it is nice an fresh with good new lubrication.

| I thought you couldn't change the SC oil in the 95 model? Where do you change it from? | |

| Jack, I read a discussion on this in the last month or so, don't recall where, here maybe? Anyway, I think it is just that the fill plug is in a less obvious location than the M90. Search around thoroughly, I'll bet you find it. | |

| for the m62 in your 95, in a pinch you can use 5w 30 synthetic, usually better with 50/50 with lucas oil stab., but really you should stick with GM SC oil. If the SYNCHROMESH is not dedicated SC oil, better get it out and some real stuff in ASAP. _________________ | |

| I'd switch it out if I were you. Take 5w30 syn and lucas at 50/50, or GM SC fulid, other stuff plays havoc with our superchargers... _________________ | |

| GM s/c oil is a specialty oil made exactly for that one application. i would never use anything other than that oil in the s/c. i cant tell you what may happen, but worse case scenario is the oil overheats, breaks down, and your rotors seize up. another good thing about the gm stuff is it will last a long time. (i think it is 100k mile service interval)
the dealer will charge you close to $15 for 4oz's of the stuff, but the online vendors sell it for less.
what happens if you put olive oil in the crankcase? i dont know, but i'm not about to find out. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | I believe the 95 service manual actually LISTS an alternative to GM sc fluid. Besides that alternative, I'd recommend using only GM or the fluid available from ZZP and/or Intense.

| In theory, Eaton lists the blowers as "sealed for life". However, if its never been done, many of us see smoother operation by giving it a change. Also sometimes, oil can leak out the snout seal, so its a good idea to check it now and then. So, if its never been done, than I would do it. If its been done since you've owned the car, just check to be sure the level is correct. When cold, the fluid should come just to the bottom of the threads of the fill port.
The m62 can use synthetic 5w30, sometimes mixed 50% with lucas oil stabilizer. Or you can get the proper supercharger oil from the dealer(its cheap). Old oil can be taken out with a narrow turkey baster, or with a syringe and tube. _________________

| I have a 1995 supercharged and I cannot find the supercharger oil change port. I have cleaned the snout and there is no port visible. Did they make a supercharger without the port? | |

| I'm sure it's on here somewhere but if the supercharger unit needs fluid is there a safe substitute if none is available? | |

| For the 95s,we have a choice of oils if you go by the FSM.That choice either to use the GM S/C oil or a 50/50 mix of 5W30 & Lucas oil stabilizer. I have been using the Mix for quite some time and am happy to report that my nose thanks me. | |
