Could be a faulty relay, isn't functioning properly in the cold. I believe the relay is under the back seat.

Well I push it to turn on and I don't get the lit up HI or LO on the button.

sounds like a weak relay. the relays are not exotic. Pull out the back seat and find the relay (they are marked) then go to a junkyard/pick and pull and grab 2 or 3 of that relay. Show the yard guys your relay tell then you want 3 as spares. They *may* give them to you for nothing or a buck or 2 for their coffee fund...
as for the relays, they just plug in.

Reason for getting 3: these relays don't fail all that often, and odds are all 3 will be good but you can't test them at the junkyard. Odds of one being bad are not high but aso not zero. Don't take relays where you can see the case has deformed, means they got hot. That said - odds of 1 being good out of 3 you pull are excellent.

Got to run

Thanks guys. I will have to look into getting a couple relays and seeing if that's the problem. Do you know where the relays are under the backseat? Is there a diagram that shows which each relay is for?

Steve -- I suggest you go pull the back seat and look, *then* ask. The relays, thermal breakers and fuses are all marked.

Other than that - You may need to obtain a factory service manual - check eBay, they have not been all that pricey lately.

Is there a relay for the passenger and drivers side? Could they be switched for troubleshooting? Or is it just one relay for the whole circuit.

Thanks

Derek,
They have separate relay's and they can be switched.
They are identical.

Also, each seat has it's own seat heater module located under their respective seats.
Another thing to consider when troubleshooting.

There is also a thermistor in each seat along with the bottom heating element that can go bad and cause an inop situation.
That can be checked with an ohmmeter through the control module along with but separate from the heating elements

Unfortunately the seat bottom, the seat back and the thermistor are all color coded BLACK.
Each has two wires in series.
You will need to check the resistance of each circuit separately from each other by using the Pin Numbers on the module under the seat.

Those can be switched also. Raise the front of the seat as high as it will go so you can see how to remove the module.
