| My passenger side rear marker light is out, and I have no clue how to go about fixing this. I can't stand the thought of having a light out on my car, so you guys gotta help me! What kind of bulb is it, and how the heck am I gonna get to it to change it? It's the little red light here, right under the piece of molding on the side of the rear bumper: | |

| Bulb 194 lamps are in owners manual. Get under car and turn socket from lamp counterclockwise. | |

| It's very easy. Just lie on your back and look up behind the bumper. It's right there. | |

| Yeah, you should be able to reach the socket from underneath. Most bulbs are listed in the back of the owners manual, if you have one. | |

| and if you don't have owners manual, they used to be downloadable from GM - they changed their "owner" site so I don't know if it's still true - try using Google to find them, they may be up somwhere.

| Ok thanks, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to reach it. I'll do it when its not 5• outside.
And yeah, I have the full manual in my glovebox.

| I have a question about rear marker lights too. Should they be always on or are they an option, so-called Personal Choice Feature? If so – how do I enable them? Mine are completely off and I’d like to have them on. I couldn’t find anything about marker lights in owner’s manual. | |

I couldn’t find anything about marker lights in owner’s manual. Have you inspected the bulbs? They may simply both be burned out. I think W5Ws will fit fine if you don't have 194's or 168's (a little brighter) on hand. Nothing really in the Owners Manual about them. Nor about the little bulbs in the door pulls or interior door latch wells. The rear marker lights are common and easily reached by laying on the ground or squatting then reaching up to detach the socket from reflector (like unscrewing bulb sort of). Bulb presses in/pulls out of socket. FWIW - Much about these cars that is common to other GM cars or other American cars in general, or that would be expected to be known by an experienced owner who does his/her own maintenance, will *not* be in Owners Manual.

| Albert, thank you for such a detailed answer. I'll check the bulbs, of course. It's just the fact that they both are off that lead me to conclusion it could be switchable option.

I can sort of see how you might surmise that... but, no. Albertj

| LOL... both bulbs were blown )) In the owner's manual there is a Personal Choice Feature called Perimeter Lighting. I thought rear marker lights are part of this feature and since mine are off, this feature is turned off. At that time my Riv had 3rd part alarm system and I bought and programmed original remote fob ONLY to be able to play with those personal choice features ) Now I have two alarm systems and, surprisingly, they both work independedly and normally. As a plus - now I can open my trunk remotely. And I have marker lights ) | |
