| He replied in the PM, but either way it's way too expensive. AA, I haven't been on the highway at 65mph for probably around, if not over, a month. The fastest I've gone since my trip to Binghamton was maybe 50mph while passing on a 4-lane road. The revs hold in OD at a little under 1,500 going 50mph. | |

| Looking at the thread my money's on it being EGR related, I currently have the same code that comes and goes, all fluctuates depending on the temp. Haven't had the inclination to find myself a new EGR, I just drive around with the scan tool in the back seat, then if the code pops up i just grab it, hook it up and clear it again(while driving). of interest: a EGR pintle position(the code) will show up more frequently in stop and go traffic and at lower speeds... it never shows up when i hit 150 and down again on the hwy, or on long trips, only is crappy traffic.... _________________ | |

| I think there are holes to clean on the engine that are egr related that are causing my problem. | |

| Well to me it sounds like that the oxygen sensor may be trying to go bad on you. Just to be sure, have the ECU scanned and the real problem will emerge. | |

| Heading down to PR on Sunday, so I'll take care of it next week. And of course I'm not gonna do anything until I get it scanned Haha, not that I have anything really valuable in the Riv, but when I go on vacation I turn the trunk switch off in the glovebox, lock the glove box, then lock the car twice to put the alarm on, haha! Security. | |

| Went for a road test with a local-ish Buick/Cadillac/Chevy/GMC/Pontiac dealer, where they had one of their service department staff drive the car out to feel it for himself, and then I drove it back to show him exactly what's wrong. Instead of a transmission problem, which would have cost me $2,700 parts and labor, they think it's just a simple misfire, as someone here guessed early on. This makes sense to me, because that explains how an engine would stall at low speeds, or buck in overdrive, or feel like it's slipping at WOT. The car gets an official diagnosis sometime this coming week. Details to come later. I'm really glad this might turn out to a much less expensive repair, like $300 or so. I'd do it myself but I can't get to the rear plugs, haha! Otherwise, I made really good friends with the guys at the dealership. I was talking cars with one of the service managers, a couple mechanics, and then I went into the showroom and started talking with the veteran of the business(salesman for 39 years!), who was really fun to talk to! Heh, his first car was a '69 Mustang Mach 1 in Brittany Blue...what a car! So I'm hoping that by being friendly with everyone, I can get some trust out of this dealership and not have to worry about dishonest service. I wish you could trust people more easily though, because you really wanna find that one great guy...but like I said, I'll let you guys know what happens next week and whether or not it sounds fishy. I established my car knowledge quite well so they won't treat me like a kid and me. | |

| friendly will help
surprisingly enough another thing that will help is if your car is spotless including the engine bay
it is probably more important to be civil than tobe friendly
