| Some update.
i don't remember if i ementioned, but cos the egr pipe what goes from egr to the SC was broken i desided to make blockoff plates to them and took the pipe away. So now i run whitout egr, engine runs smoother and nomore boost leak.
oh, also yesterday buted back winter tyres cos the snow is allmost beheind door. Also cos i planed to stay in finland i had to pay1600€ tax for my car! well the good thing is now that this riv is now +10000€ worh when it has finnish license plates on. Next week i will get Finnish licence plates (they suck cos they are much bigger then the USA plates) will have to think how i install them. Also I have to install a rear foglight and side turnsignal lights. guess i mod some somehow into side mirrors.
Will truy to make pictures and show how the turnlights ended up.
Also have to get some other things fixed:
*New AC compressor *windsheald sealstripe - dont know where tu buy this one...

| I have the same EGR problem. I can not find exact same parts to replace the EGR tube.
I would like to close off the EGR like you.
I would like to see what the EGR area looks like now. Could you take pictures of this area?

| Good luck with the side turn signals...Maybe you can buy a set of the ones my car uses and put them in the fender, roughly where mine is. Shouldn't be too hard to splice them into the actual turn signals: | |

| i don't want to trill a hole into the fender, on winters they salt the roads, so when you make turns the salt will fly from tyres on fenders and also on the turnsignal lights. Sooner or later it wills start to rust around the turnsignal light hole. On mirrors they are slightly higer and better to see. If i don't install them i will have problems on geting an incurence. about the egr. NO you dont need a chip. the egr itself is still on and wire plugged, just installed an plate between the header and egr, then another plate on the SC.

I figured that would be an issue. The EGR code goes off now for the tube leak. Thank you for the picture Timo!

| Today i found time to install the things needed to get my car registered to finland. Cos i'm kinda in hurry, i desided to install the signal lights on fenders, cos that was the easyest way. Eventho on mirrors it would have looked nicer. Also installed the rear fog light.(it's just temporary cos its so damn UGLY...afyer i get it registered i take it off). oh right i installed thoday an new headunit tho. Took some pictures, but not the ones when i got all finished. Will make later when the car is clean again. | |

| Maybe some Riv owners here would be interested in installing side turn signals in the same place, to give it more of a Euro look. People confuse it with a Jaguar as is, so why not mess with them! Another idea would be to put three of them on each side as "portholes"...just an idea.
Maybe you could include a simple wiring write-up for these?

That would be intesting. Remember some of the earliest portholes had lights that mimiced the combustion of the engine. Making it a preactical application like a turn signal would be awesome.

| writeup? It was not so dificult. 1. lift the front of the car up and remove front wheels, cos you need some space to work. 2.Remove the plastic mudguards? you need to pull the plastic pinns out to do that. 3.clean the area of any silicon or dirt where your going to install the turnsignal. 4. on the right side there is the windsheald washingfluid tank hiden beheind the fender, so be carefull when you'r goign to trill an wirehole through the fender. 5. write up mesures of the place where you install the turnsignal so you get it later into the same place on otherside. 6.cover the area whit painttape, this will help to protect the paint on trilling time. 7.make sure which of the turnsignal wires is the positive and ground. take off one of the bulbs on the front turnsignal. you can truy out the new turnsignal bay holding the wires in the front turnsignal bulbs socket, to find out whitch is positve and which ground. Also see how it works. Cut the cover of the front pulbs wires and connect the new turnsignal's wires to them. Use an electric tape to seal the connections well, so the moisture wont get into them. 8.on right fender, there you can connect the fenders turnsignal wire on the same place where the watertanks wire runs to the front whit zipties. On left side you need to clean the innerside of the fender and tape the wire on it from inside. 9. when this all done. turn on the turnsignals to test them, if everything works reinstall the plastic mudguards and wheels. Sorry guys it was a fast 'writeup', shame i did not make more pictures of the install. i load up later the finished look whti the new signals. | |

| today went to the registration. Now i need a paper what proofs some things like. how much is 1996 rivieras empty waight, full weight. how much it can carry. also how much nois it can make. does the riviera have chessy number anywhere else then under the windsheald??? Also i have to change the front lights. It's not allowed in finland cars to have YELLOW parking lights, so i have to install white ones. The yellow ones have to stay off. Goddamn i'm so pissed off... which i could have left the car so as it was. So if anyone can help me getting a paper or somekind proof about the rivieras waight, towing waight, how much CO it makes. And noise. i think the last owner who painted the car over on 1st place had ripped the tags off. Originaly they are on inner side of the doors??
I would be very very thankfull. Need to get it done in this week!
