| So I'm making a roadtrip up to canada to see a old friend and wanted to know if theres anythin special I would/should need to do before making a 530mile trip? My back tires are a little dryrotted so Im gonna change those out and get all the tires balanced, my aligment is already dead on, getting a fresh tuneup (plugs, wires, al104s, 180 stat, fuel filter, oil change), all my other fluids are fresh and not leaking but i still plan on checking all fluids at every stop. Got a 12volt air compressor to bring along and will have a can of fixaflat just in case. This is gonna be my first real roadtrip (other than 150miles to Ocean city during the summer) so wanted to know if theres anythin else id wanna do.
Any advice is appreciated!

| How are the belts and hoses? To be honest, that's only like a one/two tank trip, not a big deal. I wouldn't need to do anything to hop in and go for a 1000 mile trip. There's always the possibility for the unknown, a water pump, etc... but as long as the basics are in good shape, just go! | |

| Just check basics like tire pressure, oil, coolant, etc. | |

| pretty much as stated before. IMO there is a greater chance of something happening in stop and go traffic than on a long highway trip.
i would take some duct tape with you. (saved my ass before) fresh oil is a good idea if it's 1k+ miles round trip. our cars are build for the road, so as long as you have the car in good mechanical condition there should be no problems. keep an eye on the temp gauge for overheating, and kick the tires when you stop for gas. i wouldnt think twice before jumping in my riv to go almost anywhere cross country. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | Watch your speeding in Ontario, there is a reason that all the companies who make radar detectors and jammers worldwide test them in Ontario. Keep to around 10-20km over if the other traffic is too, but no more. (And don't confuse the kms with miles ) _________________

| If you are not already planning to do so - plan a stopover in Niagara Falls. The American side is nicer now than even 3 years ago and Robert Moses park is pretty nice. The Canadian side has best camera shots IMHO. The American side has best boat run (Maid of the Mist) IMHO.
It is about a 500 mile drive total--after you cross the Peace Bridge drive toward Toronto but take the first or second Niagara Falls exit and follow the signs. This puts you on the Canadian side. Likewise there are signs to get you back onto the QEW toward Toronto.
as far as camera shots go, one of the "money shots" is actually to park on wither the Canadian or American side and walk about 1/2 way across the Rainbow bridge. Very nice shot of Horseshoe Falls (the Canadian falls) from there. Only way to get a decent shot of the American falls is from the Canadian side. You can park near the Skylon tower and take the "incline" down the hill.

| Use the cruise control as much as possible, try to keep it around 60-65 mph, avoid using the brakes. Make a couple stops, but not too many. You'll be amazed at the fuel economy you can get (+30 MPG). _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Alright so all the basics are good including a pan trans pan drop a couple weeks ago (took care of most of the transmission shudder/lazyness), car came with a new waterpump and belts and gonna bring a mini toolbox just in case.
Aaron I'll probably be going 70-75ish most of the way and dont mind the slight hit on fuel economy. Anyway to make 8 hrs go by quicker drivin in middle of the night by myself is worth it lol
Also gonna look into stopping by Niagra Falls. Kinda slipped my mind lol
