| Those badges do look good. I might pull a couple from wrecked Rivieras' trunk lids the next time I'm at a yard.
I also really like the black accented dash and console. I was coincidentally thinking about a similar treatment for the console top and maybe the dash & "door swooshes" as my blue "rubbery" paint has gotten sticky in a few places and fingerprints actually show. The worst is the center console stack ashtray door, shift surround and console armrest release button on mine. Not sure why the blue paint has become sticky on mine, but ....
What type of black paint and/or primer did you use that gave such as good finish and adhered?
How did you prep the panels? Did you strip them of the beige paint?
Also, I see you have an open storage area under the ashtray door on your console stack. Do the later models have that versus the CD player or cassette or CD storage "pop out" drawers, or did you adapt something there for storage? I was looking for a storage bin to adapt to that area as well. If you fabricated/adapted something, what did you use?
Al

| Thanks! I peeled the very thin layer off all dash pieces and sanded with 200 grit before painting with Interior Paint found at Advance or Auto Zone. I prepped everything well and put down a good tack coat. It's just putting a very thin layer of paint down and giving it a few minutes to set up so the remaining coats stick well. There is also an Adhesion Promoter to put down first. I haven't used it yet but I hear good reviews. I did indeed remove the CD storage and found a cigar box that exactly matches the width of the opening and painted it black. I think Sinatra was the name on the box! It's super glued to the inside of opening. I love it! | |

| Did you say you "peeled" the rubbery layer off the dash pieces? I guess it isn't paint then? ...Interesting, so does it just peel right off? Thanks! Al | |

| It has to be sanded off or you can make a mess like I did! I tried painting them first and 80% lifted and bubbled of the plastic. I'm sure with some thinking it can be done better! Let's see some pics! | |
