removing supercharger/steps to take Empty
PostSubject: removing supercharger/steps to take   removing supercharger/steps to take EmptyThu Jul 02, 2009 1:56 am

I wanted to start some what of a writeup for people that are not knowledgeable on how to do this. I for one have not done this and want to. I really want to paint my supercharger.

I got some advice from a friend but I'm not sure what to think of it. I know that fuel resides in the fuel rail, but, the trick is pulling them without leaking fuel all over the place. My bud told me to run the car, then remove the fuel pump fuse. this would theoretically remove the fuel from the line, but I was wondering if It would have any detrimental effects.

Also in order to do this you need to remove the alternator, very easy to do, three bolts in a v shape.

The throttle body needs to be removed also which has three nuts in a triangle formation with one on top and two on the bottom. also the throttle cable needs to be removed just by wiggling it and pulling it off.

Miscellaneous vacuum lines need to be removed i.e. the w on top the charger, all the hardware on the rear of the charger (facing rear of car) and the vacuum lines on the fron of the charger (facing front of car).

then take off the s/c drive belt and begin unbolting the supercharger (I would reccomend getting a new s/c gasket). I may be missing some things so those of you who have done this please kindly chime in. any help is much appreciated!

Ummm ok.. you are a newb i know its ok mike.. anyway there is a little valve on the front side of the rails... with a bicycle tire looking cap on it...
unscrew that and take a screw driver and press down on it letting the fuel out.. making sure to have a towel there to catch the fuel is a good idea.......... there is a write up for this elsewhere... FYI
