This is a very rough hood, taken from an old parts car. We'll do a step by step
resto as time permits. A Stage 2 scoop will be used, as will a Buick hood
tach. I work in a large bodyshop doing bus fleet repair, but this will
be done here at home on the weekends if I haven't gotten my fill of
filth, sweat and aggrevation for the week yet. The hood is covered in
heavy surface rust, and also has a few rust holes at the very front. Before
we even get the air hose out, a word to the second generation purists out
there: I know you folks hate to see these sort of modifications to Riviera
sheet metal. There are probably still 500 or so '68 GS Rivs out there, and
if this were the last one of it's kind, it'd be a bone stock resto. The mods will
be done with much planning and detail to look the way the factory would
have done it, had they chose to do so. The last thing we'll do is to "cut 'n buff it",
but we have a long way to go before then. Here are the begining pics of our
little jewel in the rough, just to make you feel a bit better about your door dings;
Photos in photobucket will be resized next go round, couldn't find the "resize" tab for these.
