96 and 97 S/C was still optional. It was standard in 98 and 99. | |

| I believe that s/c was still an option in 96 & 97. I actually saw a 96 former lease riv with non-s/c, a bench seat, and auto trans selector on the tree for sale at South Shore Buick (Quincy, MA) back in 1998. It was sitting next to the 96 s/c that I ended up buying (also a former lease). S/C became standard in 98. | |

| 1) Check inside the armrest lid and box for flip-out cupholders.
2) think about a single-din head unit with retracting screen.
3) I would not boher painting the speaker grilles. Really.
4) you can vacuum the dust off the speaker grilles. If you are replacing the speakers think about getting the 2-ways with "aimable" tweeters. Treble is really directional, you'll be shocked at the difference this makes. You can leave the rest of the speakers alone for now. If you replace the rear speakers and not the fronts (assuming the rears are still stock) you will have problems getting the fader to balance right front/back.
5) the black box by the speaker is the MALL (body computer) - it has a radio receiver for the remote locks and stuff.

| How much would you spend on the 2-ways with the tweeters dont want to over spend when it comes time to buy them. How do you install the aftermarket head unit in the rivi? | |
