| Hello - I just replaced the plugs in my sisters 95 Riviera Non Supercharged. The car was have starting problem so that definitely fixed the the starting problem.
The car seems to idle fine but when I hit the gas the car rumbles and shakes. The only thing I think it could be is the injectors.
Questions,
How hard is it to replace the injectors?
Does anyone have a write up?
Anyone know what else this could be???

| Since injectors are more expensive, I'd replace the fuel filter first. How many miles are on the car? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| could be wires or a coil pack as well. are you certain all the wires are in the proper order? i know my car will seem to run fine at idle with a cylinder down, and will still run with 2 cylinders gone. If the plugs were bad enough the car had problems atarting them it puts lots of stress on the coils to produce the spark. if they are oil chances are one of them is going bad.
Like Aaron said, injects are not cheap, and i have heard of many of them going bad.
Here is what i would do: make 100% certain all the plugs are wired to the proper coil. take the wire/plug off one at a time and see if it is sparking. make sure you are grounding the electrode to something (like exhaust manifold) or else the current will use you as the ground. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | Ridin-Rivi, do you know if the car had the rumbling and shaking problem before you did the plugs? If not, I agree with Mr.Riviera - it could be a crossed ignition wire. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| I agree with a possible crossed wire but also would like to point out that running a car with bad or worn out plugs can and will stress the ignition wires and cause them to fail. The core of the wire may pass current fine under low load situations but not pass current under a load (above idle) This is common failure mode of wires when they have been trying to work overtime with bad plugs. I would replace the wire set before i started paying a bunch of money on injectors. if you still have the problem after replacing wires, then there are still other things that need to be inspected and tested before condemning injectors. | |

| The car is easy enough to replace wires on. If you did the plugs chances are you need the wires. Make sure to use the electrolytic grease.
Also check the contacts on the coil packs. If they are rusted or corroded sand them clean.
