| Dimmer could have an internal problem, same with the buttons on the climate control. However, the cold/hot air thing is a somewhat common problem. There is plenty of information on this site if you do a search or look in the Write-Ups tab up top. Good luck! | |

| i might suggest buying a manual. along with the information you get from the search engine ,that would help you visually... another thing just type your problems into the "search" and tackle them 1 at a time. | |

| I would say the same thing as robotennes61. List one thing at a time and try to find the answers here in existing write ups or topics and if you can't find the answers then we can help one at a time. | |

| It's been a while but if I remember correctly there are three fasteners holding them on. I'd be careful about "giving it a yank" everything they are mounted to is plastic I think. A service manual is a very good idea | |

| ok, i have heat on both sides now, the slotted grey piece with the hole is the motor shaft female and i jusst didn't want to pull too hard on the driver side motor i wiggled and twisted while it was plugged in and no response so it may be bad i'm going to open it up! | |

| don't pull too hard on a female or they will just wiggle and twist away and you wont get to plug em | |

| I'm having the same hot left cold right issue, when one of us finally figures out which actuator actually controls this thing we need to do a specific write up. Ricks write up helped me get the Glove box out and see the actuators, but, I was scared to go behind the box with the airbag, and it looks like it'll need to come out to get to the other actuator. Unless I am looking at the wrong thing. Is this exculsive in the 95 model. Rick????, anyone else???? Thanks guys | |

| I don't know if what your dealing with is exclusive to the 95. I don't think so. There is an Actuator located far back on the Passenger side. That is the one that control's only the passengers Heat / cold selector from the right door panel. That is not the one you are trying to find. Look toward the center of the car on the HVAC Plenum and there are 2 Actuator's bolted to the plenum. One of them is the culprit. Once you find these 2, you can determine which one is not doing what it is supposed to do by either using the HVAC Control panel or applying 5 volts to the unit. Once you identify which one of the 2 is not acting properly you can either replace it or try applying 5 volts to it and re-indexing it to the normal center of it's travel | |

| Sorry Rick, hate to sound dense, but when I removed the glove box I only saw one upper left and it was partially hidden behind a big silver box with lots of wire harnessed coming out of it, and I assumed it was the airbag, so I only tapped on the one while I cycled the AC with the steering control......thoughts?? | |

| Sorry, no other thoughts. other than i found TWO units and one was bad. The bad one caused only Hot air to be pumped on me and the Passenger had the correct temp. (Cool) After replacing one Actuator, located on the Passenger Side of the HVAC Plenum I now have the proper temp blowing on me also. I know a lot of people have tried to replace actuators located on the drivers side of the vehicle to fix problems with HOT air on the drivers side, but has not been the solution. Maybe I'm wrong again, or the 95's are different, I don't know. But what I do know is the Actuator located far back on the passenger side is not the one. If you have no reaction to the passenger's control - on the passengers door - then that one far back is the culprit. | |

| That big silver box is your PCM. It should just come out of the white plastic and doesn't need to be disconnected from the wiring. The white plastic PCM bracket then has three nuts holding it up. Take them out and you should be able to slide the actuator off.N | |

Thanks, now I feel like a complete tool I thought if I touched that box i would screw up the airbag....for some reason i thought since the airbag came up through the top of the dash that the silver box was a holder for it, I know Im an Idiot so everyone have a good laugh, I deserve it thanks for clearing that up...lol | |

| No need to feel like a tool, we all started somewhere! Most of the GMs have the PCM under the hood somewhere, so it's not like you'd expect it to be there if you didn't already know it was there. | |
