| IMHO the snout looks great, but I prefer the tappet cover look. dresses it up abit. Also I think your SC probably holds more heat than the tappet so the decal should last longer on the tappet. Thats discounting any nasty oil spills. | |

| I think on your motor, without the dress-up cover, the snout provides a nice, individual, and visible location... | |

| Sorry cannot do free shipping , thank you anyways - autodinamics
My personal opinion is not on the exterior or interior of the car but under the hood. But cannot decide if the Radiator cowl, Valve Cover or SC Snout is the best location. Only use one of the two you got and I'll buy the other one from you if you want. Seeing as we are both out of work.

| I don't like it on the snout, because the blower gets hot, and that makes sticky stuff get soft, and then you have a label peeling off right next to the pulleys... belt flies off and gets destroyed, label is gone, and you are left wondering what happened. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Aaron makes a good point about the heat from the SC snout and the proximity to the belts if it should fall off. | |

| Do you think the snout gets that hot? Seems like I've touched it after driving and it hasn't been burning hot... Aesthetically, the next best place is the rocker cover, but I don't know that it would last any longer there, either. I agree with Rick about not putting it on the exterior. If I was gonna' put something on the trunk lid, I'd rather have something chromed - perhaps telling the average guy that the L67 is 'Supercharged'.... . | |

| I cant believe this topic has come up, I was thinkin' of putting some L67 badging on the car. Specifically, I was thinking the same thing as Eldo, a chrome emblem saying "Supercharged L67". I'd like to use the script off the engine cover to replace the stock "supercharged" emblem on rear deck lid. I am inspired to do something Photoshop! But as far as the decal goes, I like the valve cover location. | |

| Snout gets hotter than valve covers, imo. It's mounted to the blower housing (hot), and is made of metal, so soaks up heat more than the plastic valve covers, insulated by valve cover gasket. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Personally, I don't like badges. I don't want anyone knowing what I've got under the hood. If they want to find out, run me. But then again I've always been deep into sleepers. Slow cars made fast but not advertised, thats what I'm talking about. The only reason I haven't taken the supercharged badge off mine is because its on the trunk so its a subtle clue. If it were mine I'd put the badges on the valve covers, its hidden but when you pop the hood there it is. | |

I agree that those side emblems are junk... Between making them out of plastic, and redesigning the actual script thinner and with that long, disconnected tail on the 'a', I don't dare use a car-wash - I've already broken one tail just washing it myself.

| Hint: you can avoid breaking the a-tail on the RIv script by using a toothpick to work silicone cement under it - "GOOP" for instance. When you do this, have a small cup of water handy. After working the goop under the a-tail, then soak an index finger in the water for ~15 - 30 seconds. Use the wet finger to wipe the goop smooth; use a paper towel to burnish the excell if any offf the car paint.
Do not use the black 3M soft trim adhesive stuff to do this (the stuff that holds the plastic sheet on that's behind the door panels), it combines with road chemicals and attacks the paint eventually.

| Next time mine is in the Body Shop for the usually dings and misc. touch up work, I'm going to have them remove the Riviera emblems from both quarter panels and buff out the areas. The only emblem left will be the SC on the trunk. When and if i need work done to the trunk then I'll remove that also. I wish there was a way to remove the one from the passenger dash area without leaving the large concave witness mark. That would leave only the - R - on the trunk lock, the hood and the soon to be etched panel where the ashtray is. | |

If you were planning to put one of the wood or carbon fiber dash appliques on, that would cover the witness mark if you removed the Riviera script from the dash. Albertj

| Personally, I think it would look pretty nice. But just on the trunk lid where the stock one appears now, and nice and small. So "SuperchargedL67" would equal the length of the current emblem. I guess based on the comments here, no one is interested in going in on a group buy? | |

| To get the one in my post created would mean contacting a company that creates custom ebmlems, but they usually need a minimun run which would require a financial commitment upfront. But Codiths' can be bought through his link. | |

| I pretty much decided I don't want these on the outside of the car and I can live without them on the interior so I gave the snout option a whirl. It could come off and if I'm very unlucky, it could do something to the belt. I'm taking the chance. I'm going to hang on to the second one, Rick, since the first one is kind of the test lamb. | |
