I have one of those oil caps too which is primarily why I don't want to put this on the valve cover as much. Once I finally finish my genV up, the pcv will be unblocked so I can take off the breather and put that cap on.

I pretty much decided I don't want these on the outside of the car and I can live without them on the interior so I gave the snout option a whirl. It could come off and if I'm very unlucky, it could do something to the belt. I'm taking the chance. I'm going to hang on to the second one, Rick, since the first one is kind of the test lamb.

Good choice, that was my favorite too. I'll keep my fingers crossed...

just received mine in the mail. very quick shipping, but it came from miami area so it didnt have all that far to go for me.
defiantly high quality badges, and the chrome oil cap is awesome! a lot heavier than i expected it to be because it's actually made of metal, not chrome coated plastic.
now i just need to find a location of the badge. i'm liking the snout, but i also have a few other stickers on the radiator support.

Hmm the top of the case seems like an extra toasty place for the adhesive to live tongue

BTW the engine bay looks great, just need some headers and I'll give it an A+ thumbsup Is that a Pulley Boys MPS or do you have a press-on?

You should get your car appraised Matthew, between the gorgeous exterior and detailed engine bay, you might own one of the more valuable Rivs out there! clap

Matt,
Did you have your S/C and Snout Powdercoated black or did you just paint it.?
It looks good. And I have a GenV and L32 LIM sitting here waiting for install. I think I should disassemble and have them powdercoated, but I'm afraid from experience on some other motorcycle parts that don't see 400* during normal operation and have warped during the curing process of heating the parts to 400* F.
If these parts normally see 400*F then i have nothing to worry about.
Please tell me what you think or what you have done to your intake set-up.

it's black ceramic caliper paint. it doesnt get all that hot. i can hold my hand on the blower after driving around in traffic so long as it's not 90* outside. guess i'll find out how it holds up to fl heat soon enough.

Do you have one of those IR Thermometers that can measure the temp of the S/C and LIM while at operating temp in FL.? Even this time of year, it will give me a better idea of what normal S/c Temp is ?

Yea I'd keep an eye on the adhesive for that I worked in a facility that produced hot glue and hot glue dispersing equipment a few years back and basically if there is any extreme temperature such as extreme heat or extreme cold then the adhesive ( no matter what it is) will not stick or hold correctly since many adhesives are designed to hold at room temperature with the exception of hot industrial strength glue. Other than that small concern though the engine does look very nice

Rick, i just drove in from work and took a reading for you. it is 60* ambient and i was driving for about 30min, stop and go+highway+a race against a VW CC (he didnt have much of a chance from a dig and let off after i pulled 2cars by 50 lol).

snout temp=132*F
S/C housing by badges=137/138*
S/C by N* = 143*
car was just turned off when i took the reading.

i'd expect much hotter temps in mid summer here, but so far the badges do not move when hot.
Matt

3.8L L67 badge - Page 2 CIMG1571
3.8L L67 badge - Page 2 CIMG1573
something like that - I've going to wait until it's all on so I can see what visually makes the most sense.

btw, the badge that's currently on my snout is still stuck strong. I would say it's safe at this point.

OK, I'm obviously out of the loop... What the hell is that extra pulley for? dunce

With the amount of wrap that these motors already have on the blower pulley,
you can't seriously be telling me you're slipping...

(How 'bout a 455-4V sticker somewhere?) lol
