very nice write up. next time if you could some how use arrows or something to pinpoint areas and such, but nice!

This helped a lot, thanks for posting! My 95 had a bad boost solenoid. I found the solenoid itself is the same from the series II engine (96+), the only difference is the metal bracket that mounts the solenoid to the boost valve. You can mount the 96+ one on there as it is but the vac line is a different length and it comes close to the EGR pipe. I uncrimped the metal brackets and swapped solenoids, worked perfectly. It sure is good to have a parts engine to figure these things out. Maybe really useful if the series II one one is still available.
