Sounds like possibly condensation from the AC?

Make sure the drain tube for the ac evap on the fire wall is not plugged up. It's on the passenger side you might need a mirror to see it.

I'm thinking I have a similar issue. Mine started "intaking" water after I installed my stereo system and ran the signal/speaker wires inside the wire tray under the carpet.. dunno if we pulled something loose or didn't get it reassembled correctly... I'm watching this thread for a good answer too, so good luck to both of us. smile

PostSubject: Water under back seats and under carpet   wet carpet - FAQ: Wet Carpet - Interior Leak Problems EmptySat Aug 02, 2008 11:22 pm

I removed my back seats this morning. There was about a half inch of water under the seat and under the carpet in the back seats. Where is this coming from? On my honda, it would come in from the trunk. Are there drain plugs in the trunk? I haven't checked to see if water is collecting in there yet, I will in the morning.

Make sure the AC drain up front on the fire wall is draining properly. I had to silicone around mine so the water would not drain back into the car. Pull the carpet back on the passenger side and see if there is evidence of water leaking back into the car.

first you have to check and see if that's really the problem (it usually, but not always, is).

You need to make sure the drain up front isn't plugged. Get a mirror that you can use to put down the fire wall on the passenger side and you will see the drain tube. Go to www.mcmaster.com and type in part# 9756T23 this is what you need to order. I have one and it works great. Also you need to silicone around the tube where it exits the fire wall because the condensation that is draining is just running back around the tube and into the car. If your carpet is that wet you will need to pull the passenger seat out and remove the door sill plate and lift the carpet up for about a week or so to dry out.

Pulling the seat is simple man don't sweat it. As far as the drain up front just buy a brush like I said and fix it. Easy stuff man. Hell, when I bought my Riv the minute I got it home I realized it had and intake gasket leak. Just gotta fix it if you like the car.

Ok, I cannot find a drain pipe. Looking under the dash, it looks like nothing is going through the firewall at all. Where is, and how do I access, this drain pipe?

to find the drain (at least, where the drain is supposed to be) look at the *engine* side of the firewall on the passenger side, behind the power steering pump... stick your hand down there (if engine is cool) and paw around - you'll find it.

Ok. so I normally have a little bit of a water leak into my cabin on the drivers side floor after washing the car or raining. Usually nothing more than a little spot thats slightly damp. Well its been raining vigorously for the past few days ( tropical storm fay) and instead of as little spot i literally had a puddle ( not a pleasant sight when you're about to head to work. So i grabbed a towel put it down and yadda yadda yadda, question is , how in the hell did all this water get in there? Any ideas? And even more importantly how do i stop it?

One of these days I'm gonna climb in there and investigate. On my Jeep Grand Cherokee there is a drain down there and it can be fixed by drilling a small hole in a location

COULD be a heater core I suppose but it would be more than damp

Aaron- It rained really hard today and I noticed the windows were really fogged up after the rain. The rear floor was wet so I lifted the rear seat to find a good amount of water underneath. The car was not driven today!

I was going to suggest the sunroof might be leaking. How's the roof feel inside?
