That's just it, she doesn't care. As long as it's not a 4cyl she cares not. Even when she's in the Riv, she always asks "Why you gotta take off like that?" I tell her "cause I can". - Rickw wrote:

You give them a piece of shit, you get one back. Frequently. At least if everything is in working order to start with then you a leg to stand on when they present you with a piece of shit one month later, you can at least use the argument that everything worked when I gave it to you. you know what i mean, actually not to be mean but just an asshole a little bit, which I seem to be accused of on here now and again. You're not an ass, it's the truth. But, in this case, She's already extended her lease 3 months, and she's out of time. The car pretty much landed in my lap, I couldn't pass it up. I still have to get tires and fix the grille on the Malibu before she turns it in...

| Yeah well, I came out this morning (she had my car yesterday) and backed out of the parking spot. I cringed when I heard my nice new front end scraping off the curb. That pisses me off. Absolutely NO need to pull up that far. | |

I wonder if your car sits lower with you in it than her (that is she weighs less than you do? I don't know, never seen either of you...) If it does she may not have known she was up too far. I weigh about 20% more than my spouse, it sometimes makes a difference with things like that. Albertj

Well, she's about 80lbs lighter than me But, judging by the condition of her front end, she just doesn't care, which is why I have to find a used grille insert and "re-attach" the bumper.....it's loose.

| Guess I feel the need to vent...... My gf has had my car for the past 3 days, which I AM NOT happy about So, not only does the air dam on the front end get shorter every time she drives it, she called me on her lunch hour (as usual), and proceeded to tell me that she dumped an entire McDonalds large Iced Tea on the passenger side I'm pissed | |

| Yes, it was Unsweetened. Funny you mention that, 'cause those were her EXACT words...."at least it's watered-down unsweetened tea".
Robo, think about it man. There is no benefit (that hasn't already been benefitted from) that makes up for fuc*ing up a man's car.

Robo, think about it man. There is no benefit (that hasn't already been benefitted from) that makes up for fuc*ing up a man's car. You can get 100% of that tea out using a household shampooer like the bissell ProHeat or the Hoover "steamer" with the hand-held attachment. Use "Purple Power" (get a gallon bottle of it from stores like WalMart or Advance Auto) along with or instead of the 'steamer' shampoo you buy for these things at the store. Purple Power straight works but tends to run past the dispenser seals on my shampooer (corrects itself when you rinse it out or use regular shampoo) but you'd be amazed at how well it does work. Personal experience - I bought a smoker's car and overhauled it for my daughter - as part of the overhaul gave it a thorough cleaning. The "Wow" was when I cleaned the headliner with the shampooer loaded with this Purple Power stuff. I started in the middle, headliner is gray -- I vacuumed the headliner then ran the shampoo attachment over it. The Purple Power immediately removed the residue - I mean, it was like I painted a light gray stripe on the sucker at first. I shampooed the whole headliner form the center out in door-t-door bands across the headliner. When I was done I was amazed. No smell, no residue. Again, it kind of messes up the shampooer but you can make it right again by putting water in the shampoo bottle and running it for a minute or so to purge the pump and hoses. Did the same thing (shampooer with purple power) to remove a congealed puddle of barbecue sauce the PO left in the car (under a floormat no less). Maybe your GF will help with the cleanup?!? Could be fun if you do it right. Albertj

| Scott man, what are you doin' handing over the keys? My wife doesn't want to drive the Riv cause she's afraid to scratch it! Although I do encourage her to take it when she needs it, maybe I'll think twice about it next time. | |

I'm driving the "work in progress". She drives like 75+ miles a day, and I don't trust this '94 Jimmy I'm driving (my winter beater). Guy I bought it from just rebuilt the engine 1500 miles ago, but has been sitting in his garage since the beginning of '09. He obviously did something wrong, because the rod knock is getting worse daily. He admitted that that the cylinder #3 rod felt "loose" when he put it back together, but it plasti-gauged ok, so he left it.....gonna pull the front axle this weekend so I can drop the oil pan and *hopefully* replace the rod bearings. As long as the crank is ok it should be fine. He went as far as having the crank machined, new rod bearings, crank bearings, rings, etc etc. I couldn't believe he'd put it back together "loose". Now, someone is going to ask "what about the PAU you bought her"? Well, that's a WHOLE other story. The pics I took is when I had it for the weekend while I shampooed her Malibu. I gave it back on Monday until I got the front end fixed (the Malibu) so she could turn it in. Now, he told me for 2 months that when he figures out what he's doing with a different car, the PAU was mine. I called the him on Thursday (the day she turned it in) to make arrangements for the "transaction". His exact words were "Oh shit, you still want that car"? My blood pressure shot through the roof.....needless to say, he sold the f@ckin thing. I was sooo pissed. So, now here I am with this issue. It's been a GREAT week

| I say we un-hijack Abaddon's thread. Even though it was his GF that spilled the tea. GOtta get that stuff outta there, though. Even though it is not sweetened, the organics are going to start to stink and the stain will set. Might have to get the stain out with ovyclean or straight drugstore hydrogen peroxide.

| Haven't even seen my car in 4 days (she leaves earlier and gets home later). I brought it to work today . She burned the trim around the window with a smoke, and I think she put regular gas in it . She knows better.....I hammered the throttle gettin on the freeway and could feel it hesitating. I might make the evening news...... ..... and it smells like perfume | |

| ^X2, NOBODY but me is allowed to even touch my car let alone drive it. my girlfriend has driven my car only a handful of times, ALL supervised by either me sitting in the passenger seat or standing in the parking lot shes driving in. i would never let her or even anyone in my family take my car without me, id be hairless by the time it came back. my dad took my car from my girlfriends a block away to put it in our garage when i was in jail for a few days, i was pissed i wouldve rather that it sat outside and got a little dirty than someone driving it. | |
