| Just purchased my first Rivi! My name is Brian, most people I know call me Hollywood (it's a long story lol) I live in Kenosha, WI. I'm very much a DSM'er at heart, as is my wife. As anyone who has any experience with DSM's knows, the first mod you do is buy an additional vehicle. After much careful thought, I decided to get a Rivi, Series II Supercharged of course. So far I am LOVING the Riviera. It's so much smoother than what I'm used to, everything works, and it has a lot of cool nick-nacks and gadgets. Also, after doing a little research and review here on the forum I am amazed at how simple these seem to be as far as upgrading goes. From what I can tell, plugs, tstat, a pulley puller, a couple pulleys, intake, and exhaust and my car goes faster? With out leaving me stranded or blowing up?? If any one else had or has DSM experience prior to their time with the Rivieras, could they please verify that the info above is correct? lol Enough with the jokes, haha, thanks for the space. I hope to learn a lot. | |

| Welcome. Which DSMs do you have - Talon or Eclipse?
As far as modding a Riviera goes, while you can simply upgrade pulley, plugs, intake, exhaust... there's a lot more to it, and a lot more to be gained. Actually, it's not a whole lot different than modding a DSM, but you may be surprised at how inexpensive the mods are, and how easy the cars are to work on.
Check our Modding 101 link in the FAQ tab above, and happy posting! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Welcome! Please do pay attention to the information here, especially how you should avoid the temptation to slap a smaller pulley on before increasing your exhaust or valve lift.

| Thanks for the quick reply! If you'd be as kind as to take a quick look in the Series II Engine section, I just posted up a question regarding SC pulleys.
As far as the dsm's, there are a few more than just Talon's and Eclipse's but I have a 1ga (89-91) Talon Tsi AWD 5 speed, and my wife has a 2ga (95-96) Talon Tsi AWD Auto.

| One day last year, I got into a tangle with a modded Conquest. Surprisingly quick, but he was even more surprised when I reached his rear bumper at 80 mph! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Sweet, another DSMer. I just joined, and I have the same thoughts on the Riv. I had a 97 Eclipse and a 91 Galant VR4 that I loved. The only problem was constantly working on it..... But, it was nice to beat a brand new Cobalt SS with an old car to see the look on their faces... | |
