| Made me think of the time back in the mid 80's when I wanted a bottle that limited slip additive for my '66 Riv. I went to 3 GM dealer parts counters and they all looked at me with blank stares because none of them had ever heard of the stuff. And here you get handed a bottle of it when it wasn't what you wanted. | |

Does it look like this, and cost $23.00 a bottle? What cost's $23.00 per 4 oz bottle. Are you kidding. This post reminded me that I haven't changed my SC fluid in a couple of years so I just went out in about 42*F and vacuumed out the old 8 oz. and put in a new bottle of fluid that I bought from Intense over a year or more ago. They sold it in 8 oz. bottles which are convenient. Don't need anything but a section of clear tubing to put over the nozzle of the container they supplied and just squirt it in the SC. Well at about 40* even synthetic moves slowly. One thing I was grateful for was that the old fluid did not smell as BAD as the first time that I changed the SC oil. That was "Camel Ass" to the 10th degree. This time was a slight hint of that smell that I almost forgot about. Dumped the old fluid out in the back forty as I didn't want it in the garage waiting for me to properly dispose of 8 oz. of Stank fluid. I don't remember exactly what I paid for that 8 oz. bottle, but I think it was around $12.00. Certainly wasn't $46.00, that much I know. If GM wants $23.00 for 4 oz of fluid they can go fly a kite. Ain't gonna happen.com

| I think I got that 8oz bottle from Intense for free a few years ago when I bought their MPS for the Regal's GenV. The old fluid in that blower didn't smell very bad. The GenIII I got today, on the other hand, had STANKY fluid. Holy hell. My roommate is gonna hate me when he goes in the garage. Can you buy supercharger oil from rockauto or something? That might be cheaper. Unless you get it at cost (like I'm guessing Scott does ) I wouldn't get it from a dealer. edit: better yet, look at ZZP's listing: http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=813&catid=106 6 ounces? | |

After giving you the wrong product and causing you to dilute the first install, they wouldn't even cut you a break and charge you 50% off. Frig them cheap bastards. Or is $4.14 CDN actually 50% off.??

wait wait whats this? I've never heard this, I bought the gm supercharger oil, should be fine for 95 right? The 95 can also use OE s/c oil. It can also use full syn 5W30. I use 5W30 and Lucas oil stabilizer in a 50/50 mix.save me a ton of money

| 95 Series I motors use the Eaton M62 blower. 96 and newer use the Eaton M90 blower. They have different specs.
Heresay - the M62 seems happy with many different oils. Not based on my experience, just what I've heard from other Series I owners.

| Do auto stores sell decent SC oil? I ordered the "Coupler Swap Kit" from ZZPerformance, only to discover at the last minute that the "kit" isn't a "kit" at all. So I need oil quick. I guess I can go to a Buick dealer but I don't know if the parts counter is open on Saturday. | |

| I just topped off my supercharger oil yesterday actually. I bought 1 bottle at Ray Buick by my house. It was $12 bux. I heard you could use synthetic 5w30 in there if necessary in an emergency | |

| Thanks. How do I know when I've added enough? I'm sure too little or too much isn't good either way. I'm sure Buick used a set # ounces of oil when building the SC originally. Fill to the bottom of the oil fill hole? | |

kinda,I recall that the 5w30 is reserved for the series 1 only.I might be wrong? I mean,in an emergency 5w30 is better than nothing.Exclusive use of 5w30 is reserved for 95 Rivs only.I mix a 50/50 of Lucas oil stabilizer and 5w30 mobil 1.

| Just to add to the confusion, my M-62 has been happily spinning in a bath of ester 100 oil for over a 100,000 miles. So who knows what's best? The bottom line is, Eaton builds an almost bulletproof blower. | |

| Agree with that. I've seen a at least one blower still running with almost no oil for God knows how long. My M90 has 265k at the moment, and to Karma's horror it was once submerged in water + purple power for a few minutes during the last engine rebuild. With only a coupler replaced so far, this blower is a true champion. Most GM dealers have it, you aren't tied to the Buick dealer. the SC 3800 came in a bunch of Chevys too. Fill to the threads on the fill plug. | |
