EVAP Canister Mounting Bracket Empty
PostSubject: EVAP Canister Mounting Bracket   EVAP Canister Mounting Bracket EmptySat Jul 24, 2010 6:15 pm

Does anyone know what the part number is for the drier mounting bracket for the rear suspension? I am pretty sure it is the drier bracket. It is located on the driver side in the rear and has three air tubes running to it. It looks like a vacuum tank. Mine is pretty rusted from all of the salt they use. It would be easier to by a new bracket than to clean the old one.

#2 in the picture below (dryer mount bracket) is what you are looking for? NA from GM parts direct - I have these parts. Which ones do you need, just the bracket?

No it is not #2. Let me get a picture of it.

Edit: Here is the picture. This is after I cleaned it a little bit. There is some pitting, but it isn't too bad.

It is the rust bracket in the picture. The black box is what is held up by the bracket. I am not really sure what the part is for.

The air dryer (drier) is shown in the illustration as #5. Your picture is of the EVAP canister & bracket.

That looks like part of the EVAP system, not the ELC.?????

He did say it is on the Drivers side.

I would just wire brush and paint it with some rustproof paint.

Thanks for telling me what it was. I thought it had something to do with the air suspension because of all the lines running into it. But it is good to know what it is.

That's what I am going to do. There are also a few rust spots I'm going to get under the car while I am at it. It is kind of a pain, but well worth it.

Careful handling the EVAP canister - it's an expensive part to replace.

Thanks for the warning. It doesn't look like it would be, but looks can be deceiving. You got me wondering though, how much does it cost?
