As much as I love blowers, for the cost and trouble installing it I have to ask, why not turbo?

As much as I love blowers, for the cost and trouble installing it I have to ask, why not turbo? I like the +displacement s/c power delivery characteristics better for this car. Plus it fits my need to make and do things a little different more than a turbo. Also as a side benefit, that blower is an eaton-made lyshom supercharger. It's like a whipple in plain-jane eaton clothing. SLEEEPER

Whats different about the 05-06? The m112 setup has been done. I always thought it would be really cool, so I looked into it a bit, but I'm a poor college kid, so... Anyway, a friend of mine just totaled his Harley F150, and he's parting it out, so I could get you the blower off that if you wanted. Also, I have a spare l32 lim laying around that I could sell to you for cheap if you want to mesasure/test/mod it.

The gt supercar blower is basically a Whipple twin screw made by eaton. The m112 I'm is not worth the bother because you'll run into the same boost staking problem as you do with an m90 and not be that much better off. The screw is fine with higher than 15psi so you can actually force more cfm through the motor.

| Ahh yes I knew the GT had a twin screw, but I always thought it was actually a whipple. Didn't know it was made by eaton.
Are those easy to find, or are they cheap to buy? Wouldnt sourcing a TVS, Whipple, or Kenne Bell be easier?

| You can get one for under 1300 basically new. I'm waiting to see if I can do better than that before I start anything. Whipple tend to go for more. Tvs are not really available in a very ideal package for a 3800 and often go for money close to the one I'm after. Not many people have use for the GT lysholm s/c because it doesn't fit anything else which helps me as demand & cost are kept down. The unit aught to fit reasonably well. The biggest obstacle for a 3800 riv would be the alternator. It needs to move away. | |

| Yeah, I'm sure you could figure out something for the alternator. Possibly ac delete and move it to that location?
Sounds like it will be a really cool project! Are you going to have to get/make custom ic plates to function as an adapter? Wont hood clearance be an issue?

| For the alternator:

This guy grabbed one off a Yukon and moved it down low with a custom bracket. No major reason it wouldn't work here.

| I'm not getting rid of a/c. This is a Riviera, not a fiero lol. After I do my short block swap this summer, I'll have my broken L26 on a stand and I can use it as a complete mock-up. I'm thinking I'll make a most-likely 2-piece billet aluminum relocation bracket. That will definitely be tricky but shouldn't be impossible. If I end up one day picking up a 99 riv as a replacement for my 97,I suspect it would be considerably easier. The 99 has the newer style alternator that mounts like they do on w-body's and could be relocated with a lot less b.s. not to mention, you have the freedom to change to a different smaller alternator. | |

| Cody, do you know if the '99 alternator is compatible with the Gen V swap?
Or does it too need to be modded to fit?

Or does it too need to be modded to fit? Answer is: the ground bolt needs to be shaved ever so slightly for clearance. If I raised the blower an inch via spacer, does this essential mean my belt length will be affected as if I added an inch to my SC pulley size? I.E., I would need the same belt/pulley configuration for a 3.8" pulley if I wanted to run a 2.8" + 1" spacer?

| The belt comes off both sides of the pulley so you would need 2" more if the belt came on and off the pulley perpendicular to the ground. You could prob figure it out but You could always just try a 2" longer belt and return it for a different size if it didn't work. Lol the circumference of the pulley changing size would be slightly different like pi/2" or similar depending on the belt. School ended today so Im gonna pass on figuring the exact math -_- | |
