| Well...I'm no expert, but I have been through some a/c issues like what you describe. I'm going to guess either a) blend doors, or b) electronic climate control module. I've had both, and they are a pain because you have to take the dash apart. (The system in these cars is complex on account of the dual-zone feature.)
I'm thankful that I've never had any window problems, but if you can tap it and make it work, it just sounds like a dirty or loose contact. The motor could be going bad, of course, but let's hope it's the simpler one.
Hope this helps!

| Its more or less probably going to be your blend doors. I had the same problem with mine but it was with the heat, it would come out of everything strongly except the dash vents. I took the dash apart and had to replace the blend doors. It is possible that its your climate control module, but I would check the doors first | |

| Passenger window motor looks to be going bad. I have a spare if interested (they sent it to me and it was the wrong side I needed but rather than eat shipping I kept it for a spare). Overall, very easy to replace and if you've had the panel off, you're 90% there. | |

| I'm no expert but I've done a lot of reading on this site and one thing that keeps poping up in relation to window problems is a broken or frayed wire in the door boot. Next time you have the door panel off, pry back the black bellows that's in the door jamb and check for wire damage. If the wire isn't broken completely its possible that you jiggled it when you were digging around in there causing it to temporarily work again. It could very well be the motor but I figured I mention it just in case before you spent any money. | |

| Both times my driver window stopped working, it was the switch connector starting to slip off inside the door. It begins intermittently, but then gets worse. The way you can tell, if the connector is loose - when the driver window stops working, it will also disable the passenger side window. It's probably not your problem, but a quick 3 sec check will reveal if it is. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |
