PostSubject: IAC Mystery !   IAC Mystery ! EmptyFri Jul 08, 2011 8:17 am

About a month ago my throttle would stick and race pushing me into warp 9. I replaced the IAC sensor, TPS sensor and cleaned the throttle body making sure not to mess with the MAF sensor. I know how delicate those things are! Over the past three weeks, sometimes when I start it the idle stays around 300 and starts bogging. Not always but she has popped a code a few times saying low idle IAC. I reset the code and it runs fine for a week or so. ANY IDEAS! This is driving me mad! 'study'

You can clean the MAF sensor carefully with spray electronics cleaner. Many of us have done this with no issues. Just have to be careful handling it. I wouldn't overlook this.

When you cleaned the TB did you remove it or did you jsut spray cleaner into it? This is important please advise.

Oh yeah and do you still have the TB screen?

Removed to clean. I didn't do it but was right there when my mechanic did it. I didn't see a screen!

OK.

Do you think you should check that the mechanic properly re-installed the throttle cables on the linkage at the TB?

Havent been logged on in a while! Since this post I have figured out all the issues! Replaced fuel filter and that little bitty o-ring on the fuel line was cracked and half there! This was probably letting air in now and again. No problems anymore.
