PostSubject: My Literally Brand "New" 1997 Riviera   My Literally Brand "New" 1997 Riviera EmptyWed Aug 24, 2011 10:06 am

Just starting to enjoy my latest discovery, hidden away since 2001 in the garage of a 92 year-old lady near my home, purchased new in 1997 with most all options (except supercharger and sunroof), today with only 31,000 miles on the odometer, refurbished of all dry-rot, fluids flushed, newly waxed and detailed and with a few new things added and ready to make her official debut here on this great website. Here's my photos of my 1997 Riviera in all her sparkling pearl white glory...

I have had a love for these cars for as long as I can remember and now overjoyed to have one myself now. It wasn't planned to have happened when it did, but now I have my own Riviera and I couldn't have wished for having one so nice. I have also just sent a "thank you" note written to the 92 year old lady that owned the car all these years, for taking such good care of the car and for preserving it for me to discover when i did and that it now has a good home. I just love this car and now am beginning to discover what many of you have known a long time too! thumbsup

Thanks for all the compliments. A couple of months ago I would have never imagined that I would have such a nice Riviera in my garage! In answer to a couple of your questions, the things that I added to the car were: the trunk lid mat (grey replacement carpet from PepBoys, glued and velcro on a foam core board), also added the chrome vertical trim pieces to the front grille, added a few platinum silver dash cover pieces to the console and door arm rests (to cover up lots of scratches from who knows what) and removed the ash tray and replaced it with an XM radio using that same spot where the ash tray used to be (that way it is completely hidden when the dash cover panel over the ash tray area is closed). In answer to the purchase price: $7,000.

After a bit of interior trim tweaking, a few more photos...dash trim pieces finished in platinum silver with chrome accent strips.
