I can't say how great it is to have the site and its endless resources. Because of all of you I ended up buying my first personal car, this beautiful black supercharged 95. For a car in Washington (actually anywhere) its in amazing shape. Paint is 99%, undercarriage is about the same, interior is dead mint. Owned by a reasonably wealthy little old lady who bought it to relive her days of her 68 riv. She obviously took great care of it and had a bit of work done here and there. I paid $1200 as it needed a tranny rebuild (was hoping it'd just be a classic Buick solenoid issue but turned out to be the sprag..) but after that little surgery at aamco along with an Ac recharge and full oils and fluids changes she's been the most sporty, luxurious, and pride-inspiring car I've driven. I grew up in an old skylark and then a century and learned to drive in an 03 lesabre so really there was no hope for me after being spoiled by buicks all that time. I had to have it
Only other things I'm gonna do immediately would be cosmetic. Chrome the exhaust tips and put in sequential turn signals. Oh and I do need to get a new ambient light sensor as mine is gettin a bit funky. Nothin I haven't changed in one of the other boats before. It's a sweet ride and I love all the questions, is that a jag? a rolls?? Ha! Just wanted to say, I'm lovin bein a riv owner!!!!
And I really don't mind parking where nobody will ding my doors.....I could use the exercise

Thanks guys! I needed a car to compliment where I live? Haha I just got done "chroming" up my tips. Actually just duplicolor (or 'mexichrome' as my backwoods napa store calls it) until I've got a bit more scratch to buy some new tips. Should have pics soon. Did I mention she's only got 97k miles?
It's such a simple and subtle difference but I really like it. Gives it that extra appearance of muscle

Very nice Riv. Those sweet wheels would blend well with the gold emblems I have strewn around my own. Welcome!

I like the way the tips turned out...hopefully they hold up! I know how 'chrome' paint acts and it doesn't always stay shiny very long...

It's actually sunny and dry up here in the mountains so I plan to get these off and actually chromed for real in the next month or so. It's nice having skilled friends eager to work on your car haha And gold emblems would be pretty well suited to these wheels for sure. Perhaps gold accent pieces all-around instead of the chrome? Perhaps someday. There's only a very few handful of rivs around here, like you'd be lucky to see 10 different ones within about 300miles of here in a year. But there IS a lovely crimson and gold accent one in my town. Drove through town my first day with her and he flashed his lights at me nice little welcoming I'd say!
Forgot to share this pic, another variant of the first one. Just somethin I thought suited the lines on the riv well

There's an app on my Android (I'm sure iPhone compatible as well) called 'PicsArt'. It's a fun little app, basically all of the artistic filters from PhotoShop in a mobile platform.
In other news, who designed these weird 3 part ac conpressors in this car? My ac had been leaking over about a weeks time so I went ahead and had the dye treatment done and apparently there's a crack somewhere in my compressor. In the hot weather this year, a black riv with black leather and no ac is like a death trap and its gonna cost me almost $850 to fix

Danged mobile apps Very nice, but regardless of headlines, the PC with a full program isn't dead yet.

Yes, nice and easy and on the fly, if you like grunge And I do, but I'll pass on that filter. Frankly, I'm not a fan of the current batman-special ops-shadow evil- blackout look. Ugh. Too sinister for me. The Riv just doesn't seem suited to a rat rod skin, and it ain't no lambo. But filter away!

Haha. Well I'm a rock musician in Seattle, predisposition for the grunge look haha but yeah most of my friends want me to "murder out" my riv not for me. In fact I may actually be repainting her in English racing green or maybe an off-navy blue in time.
But I must say, we absolutely need to create a start-up for making that a real postage stamp!

Apps bots! Good for you. Resist and go green! The Riv deserves a better future than fad abuse! It has a history and a future. And stamp out those *ucking buckets! Hey AA, what's up with the new image venue? One that doesn't vanish with time. Any hope? This board deserves an image-rich future.

Haha. Well I'm a rock musician in Seattle...
I love Seattle. Every time I go, something sort of amazing happens. Once I flew out to see Citizen Cope at The Tractor in Queen Ann. Waiting for some friends to arrive, I find a bar near the Queen Anne Inn, and soon I'm best friends with the bartender. She introduces me to her friends, who then invite me to an art opening at a place called Gallery V on 2nd, right next to Peter Buck's Crocodile bar. The artist was Jack Harrington, who did some great paintings. The director of the exhibit's name was Brent, who said his son was the lead singer for the band Super Deluxe, which I happened to know of and listen to way back in Ohio. I ended up buying a large painting from him that night, went to the Cope show, then flew back home the next morning after eating some of the largest strips of bacon I'd ever seen. I was only in Seattle for 20 hours, but it seemed like an entire week. Later I learned an ex GF of mine was in Seattle that same day, and happened to be visiting the Crocodile within minutes of me arriving at the gallery. CRAZY!
denim, I don't know what you mean by image venue, but feel free to post more details in the Board News forum, and I'll have a look.

Black!
And yeah, this area is great. A wonderful mix of big business technology and grassroots backwoods hippyism haha and its true that its a surprisingly tight community within the city, especially with regards to the artistic and entertainment lifestyle. Everybody knows each other and it creates a very unique experience. No such thing as being unwelcome
And I still need to get that ambient light sensor. I jostled mine and sure enough it responded and worked for a bit then crapped out again

Wow! I love the black... but you're definately right. I live in florida and no amount of A/C will ever cool the seats down.
