Thought I'd steal a subject line from Pearl Riv... kind of anyway! wink

As usual I got totally anal about detailing the Silver Arrow today. Mine doesn't have anything special to it but as usual I clean, paint, and detail places that nobody will ever see or know about but me!

High Temp paint for grills, probably doesn't get that hot, rated at 850 deg., but it worked on the '95 for a few years and it does pretty good on the clamp bolts on the exhaust on the Harley too! thumbsup

under your car look like it justed rolled off the line. Very clean

My dad worked at an asphault company so when I pick him up sometimes, well it's tar-riffic under there. I don't worry too much if it gets on the body, Foose's peanut butter trick always works.

I wouldn't say nobody else notices. I go to cruise nights a couple times a week and everytime I do something small tons of the guys notice hah.

Just normal people not car-obsessed don't notice. But who cares about them anyway? wink

I'll hit it when I wash the rest of the car since I can reach it from there. hammer I use Zaino Perfect Tire Gloss on those pieces all the way around. It looks good and doesn't attract dirt like most of the other treatments! cheers

I need a new one of those under hood padding, mine is pretty crummy. Mine has the lettering but it's not white, did you do that or is that a 96-99 thing.

Me and my 95 rolleyes

I broke a belt on the '95 and the Silver Arrow was so nasty when I got it I just went ahead and replaced it.
I used Testors model car paint, the small enamel bottles in Silver. A real PITA poop but it looks good thumbsup

The part number is 25624175, list is $85.06, when I got the one for the '95 a few years ago list was only $60, GM Parts Direct is $52.18 and Monster Parts Online is $50.67, plus all of their other BS!

It probably took a little more than a couple of hours. I used a workmate in the middle of the floor with LOTS of light. That way I could keep moving it around to get the best angle on the lettering, used a small artist brush, got the edges and then filled in the rest. Of course it might take you less time, at my age I couldn't decide, even with good lighting, if I could do it better with or without my glasses, had to get real close!

Mine should be in from the dealer in a day or 2. Trade discount nets to me at $63.00, no shipping charges. Anyone who can squeeze trade discounting from their dealer, this totally offsets the incoming shipping charges from the cheap online suppliers, making it a wash.

Yours looks so good, no doubt I'll have to paint mine too. smile

Detailing one's car says a lot about the kind person you are. One of my sons(oldest) is a car guy like me, while the younger one just trashes his. Go figure? Little details really make a car look special. There are always little things about the cars I've owned that made them not like every other one like it... I'm sure most of the rest of you are like this too! cheers

I agree. It's nice to have a unique car. I like not seeing three rivs at a red light like you would with a Mustang or Chevy pick up. And to take it a step further and have a riv that's unique to other rivs on the road. A detailed car tells you a lot about the individual too. Mostly that we're ANAL! lmfao

Nah, just worn or damaged stuff. I'm into this car for the long run, doubt that I'll ever sell it. But if I have to, or decide to sell someday, the investment in keeping it up will pay for itself, both cosmetically and mechanically. I've owned about 10 daily driver vehicles in the past 20 years. Some you don't care a lick about other than that they serve their intended purpose. Then there's the Riviera. I'll either keep it indefinitely, or give it to my daughter in 7 or 8 yrs for her first car, if I tire of it by then. (Fat Chance) rotf
