Thanks! Sorry about that. I uploaded from my phone and it set to private by default it seems. fixed it! - AA wrote:

I have a barely used 3.1" pulley for sale if you need one. I always enjoyed the .1" increments since it gives a finer tuning of boost. Thanks, me too! Missed my Riv! I love this car! I am starting to get into 3-4k revs now. slowly getting into it. Cant wait for the first WOT run. Thanks for the offer! I will see where the 3.25" puts me. The gen V will be going on......eventually... so not sure i can support a 3.1" yet. Looking into intercoolers maybe this fall or next spring. So 3.1" or lower will happen someday!

| Cool shit man. You know, you don't have to completely baby it. You can get on it 1st gear, just don't stand on the throttle through gears. Brand new cars aren't "broken in" when they get shipped to us. Haven't had one blow up on us yet....
Fix that vid!!!! | |

| I'm surprised, it almost sounds stock. I was expecting a turtle-like "brum. brum. brum" instead of the stock "lululululululul" (don't you love my noises?). That valvetrain noise would drive me nuts though. | |

| Bros, with my current mod list and 3.25" pulley, I am making ~7PSI of boost at WOT.
Does this sound right or does this seem low?
Getting about 15 degrees of timing with 0 KR @ WOT.

| Headers and cam? Sounds like average PSI to me. I think with a stock pulley you'd have close to none!
Running good? You seem pretty pleased!

Here's the thing tho. If I go above 15 degrees at WOT I start seeing lil KR burps. Nothing over 2 degrees but it's there. If i stay around 15 degrees I go up to 6400RPM with 0 KR. If I drop to a 3.1" or a 3.0" to build ~9-10PSI i probably wont even get 15 degrees at WOT anymore, right?

| Then deal with 7psi and quit whining You're going to have to retune the ENTIRE thing when you go GenV and N* anyway | |

I was expecting to be around 9 at least. What are some things I should check for?

What are some things I should check for? There's a giant nut right behind the steering wheel. It's probably loose as all hell. Is the BBV centered correctly? I know that if it's mounted too high you'll lose boost. EDIT: Nvm. I'm thinking of part throttle boost. The BBV opens all the way no matter what as long as the vacuum lines are good...

| Nothing wrong with 7 PSI if you are running an XP HOT cam. It means the air is going where it's meant to go instead of building up pressure inside your intake manifold. Low boost is a GOOD thing. Got a smaller pulley to try?
Did you build a stronger transmission yet? No? You will be...
It must pull like bananas.

| I am kinda holding off on a smaller pulley cause once the gen V goes on the boost should be back. I am going to take this transmission all the way til it blows until I rebuild I think something is amiss because if I am only seeing 7 PSI with a 3.25" that means i should be able to drop down to a 3" pulley to get about ~9PSI. But i dont think it would help my timing. This is why I think im losing boost somewhere. I will try and diagnose the problem asap. being a noob sucks. Anyways, heres a pic of me and my car from this weekend. Wish I wouldve gotten a vid of that stang kill tho! | |

After the GenV/N* addition, it's time to dyno tune. Dial in your A/F ratio with wideband, then tune for power rather than KR. That's my 2¢. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Would a loose rocker cause a boost loss issue? What about a leaking snout seal? | |

That's my hot babe teacher girlfriend! She wouldnt let me take a picture of the Riv unless she was in it! There. Happy? ok, so, loose rocker or snout seal? would either affect boost #s?

Think about how many PSI you think you are short, even one PSI lost is a PSI over the CFM of what the engine is processing. Even @ 1 PSI over what the engine can consume is a good amount of air. If you really think you are short; start with the typical for a "lower" boost example. Bypass control valve and specifically the boost solenoid. Check for full and easy plunger movement, verify it closes all the way briefly when you blip the throttle. Try bypassing the solenoid so the vacuum keeps you in boost all the time(plunger is always down), and see if your boost is higher.(don't run for a day like this, just as a test.) Low tech way to do the same is wedge a block of wood on top of the boost plunger to hold it down, go for a drive and see if boost is higher; if so you need a new boost bypass solenoid. Or even easier, if you have a spare one, like off a genV, swap it out. Edit: also we need a better pic of said girlfriend. One not taken with a potato for a camera. _________________

| I believe im short about 1-2PSI. I will check these things tonight. Thank you. About the sexy babe, im trying to protect her identity, somewhat. I'd be pissed if she posted pics of me on some nerd forum she was into. Maybe yall can meet her if we ever meet up somewhere. She's not into cars and hates street racing. I love her though. | |

What makes you think this? Just buy my 3.1" and all will be well. Ya know, I dont really know or have any factual data to make the claim. I just think it's hard to believe im flowing enough air with my mods to only push 7 PSI with a 3.25". Turbo Tim @ zzp said I should be around 9-10 not 7. Maybe it's the warmer weather lowering my boost? When its colder maybe I will get 8-9? Actually.... I have an idea... what if I put the 3.4" back on and tested that. If I max at 7 PSI boost with the 3.4 and see the same boost# with the 3.25" then I for sure have a boost leak, right? AA, if you can do $30 shipped for the 3.1" I'd consider it. otherwise, I will wait for Gen V + 3.25" to build up that boost. I dont think i will/should be able to run a 3.1 with gen V until im intercooled. so im not in a hurry to go sub 3.2". Tonight is my last chance to tinker before running at Norwalk tomorrow. If i dont break into the 13s ima be pisssssssed.
