| Subject: Passenger side window. Will go up, not down. New motor. Mon Dec 24, 2012 3:40 pm | |
| Hello- About 1 week ago...Passenger side window refused to go up on 95 riv. It will however go down. Driver side switch does nothing.
Started tearing it down...got panel off and took the motor out. It looked jacked up and corroded. Checked I was getting power to the connector to the motor and all was good. Dark blue wire means up and gray/brown wire is down. Both had power. Bought new motor and hooked it up and that refuses to roll up also but down action works also.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I am getting power to the connector so that means the switch is fine. Although I am confused on which wire is the ground wire.
Thanks, | |

| I would guess that you need a new switch at the drivers side. When checking for power at the motor you need to also check that the other wire is providing ground. The switch will switch the polarity to reverse the motor. | |

| Alright, would that explain why the driver side switch will not roll the passenger window up or down? But the passenger side switch will allow it to go down. The driver side switch is bad and is stuck in the 'down' polarity? | |

| That is very possible. Do a few basic tests with a test light or multi-meter and you may be able to tell for sure. Good luck to ya! | |

| This sounds exactly like my seat problem. When you figure it out please post it so I will know what to do with my seat motor. If I come up with a remedy first I will post that as well. | |
