Does the supercharged 3800 use the same coils
as the n/a 3800?

No.  The SC 3800 used Delco D576 and the NA 3800 used Delco D555.  The coils for the  NA engine do not work well on the SC cars, they do fit and can work but they will misfire under moderately heavy acceleration. Word to the wise: many aftermarket suppliers sell the NA coils for SC applications, check that by looking at which coils are listed for which application (NA or SC) on a site such as rockauto.com where both are listed; in general the ones you don't want are the ones listed for both applications, *or* the aftermarkets listed on the SC engines for 98 and 99 that are on the NA lists for earlier years.
