This is a nice tasteful mod. Its kind of cool too since that color wasnt available in 2006 so it makes it all that much more unique. Previous owner seems like he did ALOT right with this car, you found a good one!

G8 GT only comes in auto. Wanted manual 6 spd. G8 GXP has LS3 + stick, but these cars are priced 25-35k even with some miles on them. Way out of my price range. I found one GXP G8 for 18900 w/ low miles, but almost have to think it's a scam or flood car. A GTO you can by for much less than that and you know your getting a good one. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| 2005-06 GTOs and all G8 GTs have the LS2, unless you got the G8 GXP, which had the LS3. The GTO has a far better interior with suede treatment and better seats, but I've always preferred the edgier styling of the G8. You can't go wrong with either car in my opinion | |

| It really comes down to price. G8 GXP has more doors and is more expensive than GTO.
G8 GT is about the same price as GTO, if you don't mind an auto. But GTO can be found in auto for less.
I also prefer GTO wheels to GXP wheels, so that was a factor.
PS - drove the Riv for the first time this week. I think I appreciate her more now even than before. Things like comfortable heated seats, ext temp display, auto climate control, and decent MPG - they get taken for granted until you drive a car without them. Can already tell the GTO and Riv are going to make a sweet team. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| I'm selling the '70 Olds. At this time, looks like it might go to a nice home in CA. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

aint nothing wrong with that pickup! I was offroading years ago with a guy who had one like that. He rolled it on a hillclimb. We righted it, checked the oil and coolant and such, and he drove that biotch out of the woods, caved in cab and all. One tough truck!

| Thanks, ZEP! The '59 is certainly a great favorite! You are right; each of the rectangles in the grille is a work of art. At the Buick Centennial in 2003, I met a retired tool-and-die man from Buick Motor Division. One weekend in 1957, he was called in to work, making brass grille rectangles in various sizes, so that the stylists could determine the exact size and shape. He gave me one of the "prototype" grille rectangles, which was significantly larger than the final production version. | |

| Centurion you've probably seen these by now since you are browsing my flickr account... but these pics are from the 2011 BCA National meet that happened to come 10 miles from me in Danvers, MA.

Some great Buicks of all ages in this set. I had a particular thing for the green '73 Estate Wagon...

Wow that's awesome! It figures I'd bring the grille concept up to someone who has a background in it. So the rectangles were made of brass? That begs the question... was the piece brass-colored or chromed? Would be pretty cool to have a brass-colored grille...

Actually, only these pre-production grille pieces were made in brass. It must have been easy to work up several variations quite easily in brass. The production versions are die-cast, chromed pieces.
