Hi all.....new to the forum here. Just bought my first riviera. 95 with imaculate interior and exterior for $900 from my local scrapyard. Always thought these were cool looking cars didnt wanna see this one crushed. Was making very loud supercharger coupler noise. Fixed all that. While changing the trans fluid i noticed a large bit of plastic thrust washer in the pan. No metal at all just plastic. Ive heard of people running these cars for many many miles after seeing this in the pan? So far trans shifts smooth with zero issues or noises. Anybody have any first hand exp with this. Just trying to figure out how much farther it will go before it blows.

Can you post a picture? If the trans is working okay, I'd just pay attention to how it operates. It's also a good idea to change the shift accumulator pistons from time to time.

Well unfortunately i threw out the little plastic parts a while ago. From what i have been able to figure it was a piece of the 2nd or 4th thrust washer. Trans shifts perfect and i have been driving it for over a month now with no tranny issues. So i guess i will see how long it goes before it self destructs. I had seen other GM car threads were people found these in the pan and the car continued to drive for a long time afterwords with no problems.
