Hi everyone. Replacing the clutch is not an easy task. Diagram of the transaxle, gear box at the rear. A lot of work, but everything was done.

It is clear why the work is so expensive at the dealer. It is necessary to disassemble the entire rear part of the car, remove the bumper, exhaust system, gearbox subframe, hydraulic system f1, remove the rear gearbox, driveshaft in the pipe and only then get access to the clutch.
The clutch disc was worn and overheated, so it slipped.

Further, when a new clutch has been installed, an adaptation of the clutch point is required. It is done on cold and on hot after the trip. While I made a cold adaptation, there is snow and ice on the roads, I do not go out on the street, in the spring I will do it again. We carry out all the work independently, it saves a lot of money, although it brings difficulties.

Hello everyone With technical problems finished, we are going to paint. Painting work will be carried out by the same master who did the Riviera. Painting, polishing and coating with ceramics.

Hello everyone I'm closing the season with a Ferrari.
There is also good news. I'm buying Riviera again! I'm looking at this.
This is the only Riviera in Russia that is for sale.
If we agree on the price, I will return to the club soon!

Glad to see you back! That snakeskin wrap on the dash is wild. The colors match the interior well. It almost seems like it would be one of the designer editions, like a Joseph Abboud verison.

The seller says
The car was brought from the Emirates from the sheikh's personal collection. Exclusive finishing with genuine blue python leather.

Woah, that's a cool backstory! Do you know who did the interior work? It looks like it could have been to a real design studio. Maybe it's the world's only Hermes Riviera! Probably not, but it clearly didn't go to random guy's wrap shop.

It confuses me that the car was built in 1995, it is difficult to find spare parts. And the engine is naturally aspirated.
The seller asks for $15,000, I offer less. While we are haggling).
How much does such a Riviera cost in the USA?

Kelly Blue Book You're not getting a clean Riv for $2500 in today's car market. That's junker money. That's cars with bullet holes money. Double that and you might get one with 200k and problems.
There are only two available on eBay ATM.
I doubt if there are enough 8th gens changing hands for KBB to bother estimating what they're worth.

I can't tell how many miles are on the sheikh's Riv, but there's a low mileage 95 on eBay asking about $10,000. So $15,000 isn't too unreasonable for Russia, as an asking price. It might not sell for that much.
The parts situation can be difficult, even in the U.S. I don't think anyone should be daily driving a nice Riviera anymore.

If it is, I'm catching some of my own flak as well, since I did it recently. Nearly got rear ended twice in 3 months.

No, but think about it... If your anti-lock fails the self-test at 12mph, you're not going to stop as quickly and are therefore less likely to be rear-ended.
(It actually pisses me off, because I don't even care about the anti-lock... I learned how to drive when threshold-braking was taught. I just miss the "e-positraction" of the traction control!
