| The windshield wipers on Jim's 1995 remain on, even when the switch appears to be in the "Off" position. Has anyone run into this before? Suggestions?
Thanks, Dan | |

| Consider replacing the switch, and be sure to be sitting down when you are pricing them.
When I replaced mine, it was with a junkyard pull from Ed Morad (moradpartscompany.com). It's good except the 'flash to pass' never really worked. I think all I need to do is open the electrical part and clean up the contacts.
The pull I replaced it with was perfect.

| They get kinda flaky when they get old. Mine sometimes freezes mid pass. I did have mine stay on once when the switch read "off" because i managed to jam the switch too far and a toggle of the controller fixed the issue. Its like internally it was set different than what the indicator showed.

| Thanks, Mr.Riviera, for the input. Often, these car forums tend to scare someone when they hear about all the problems. But I see that between you and albertj, you have about 600,000 miles on your two Rivs, maybe more by now. And Aaron's is well over 200K as I recall. That is impressive. Evidently, the cars are both durable enough and comfortable enough to run a lot of miles. I guess Jim's car, with less than 83K, has a long way to go!

Dan The picture in my sig. was taken this past fall. Car's in great shape. Pushing 350,000 miles (I am well past 500,000 km). Assertive maintenance is required for durability, never, ever use crap parts, and you may want to get acquainted with a local/regional GM dealer so you can get at some of the parts that they can get via the dealer network that GM no longer sells to public (Vintage Parts, Dealer NOS, and compatible parts that don't cross-reference for whatever reason).
