| I'm looking towards the pioneer AVH-X4500bt, its dimensions are 7" x 3 7/8" x 6 1/2" for its chasis. But it too has motorized front leaving me wondering if it'll fit | |

| When you planning on fitting (or trying) it? I probably won't be able to realistically get into it until April with the weather here in the WIndy... But when i do i will take some really detailed measurements of the area as a reference for people in the future. | |

| Realistically I probably won't be able to afford the whole deal until about the same time. Winter damages to the home fort are ongoing If I get there first I'll definitely take measurements and a lot of pics. Of course, I've got a 95 so fitting might be a tad different | |

| Talked to my guy down at the local CarToys and he's put these 7" double din units in Riv's before. Says quite a bit of custom fab work and cutting has to be done but he's done em without much trouble... | |

| android tablet hacking?! WTF are you up to? This is the route I will eventually go. It will be my navigation/multimedia system all in 1. I already use my droid phone for google maps, scanning with torque, and music. ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I just need bigger screen(s).
Keep up the good work! Keep us updated!

| So to finish... all speakers work minus the drivers tweeter I butchered, its an up close perfect job except on reassembly I broke the passenger fascia screw mount for the dash, iPod and USB hub are in the glovebox, the DVD function, external GPS antenna, work flawlessly, Bluetooth and android mesh, torque is up and running,....
But..... I cracked my dash pad, broke the cup holder clip, destroyed a lot of wood trim and forgot to runmy microphone for hands free.....

| Dude, that screen space for torque.... AWESOME.. Very cool. Can't wait to get a tablet installed myself.
Is it possible to run windows XP/7 on a droid OS? Or rather, is it possible to run HP Tuners on a droid?

| I'm supposed to be picking up one of these off of a guy from CL tomorrow night. http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PLDN74BTI-Double-DIN-Touchscreen-Connector/dp/B003ZUN2PW What's the best double din bracket for our cars, the scosche or metra? I've had better luck with a metra wiring harness, it seemed to be of better quality and durability than the scosche. I plan on grabbing a backup camera and a new SWI if it supports it. Is anyone interested in my old Dual unit? It would include the bluetooth thing and the SWI. | |

| Don't buy it. A flip-unit won't work. I tried that route already and luckily was able to return it. Because of the angle of the dash, the flip unit would not work without seriously hacking up the plastic surrounding bezel.
I have a touch screen unit with the disc slot on the top. It doesn't take up much room at all and the screen is still around 6.5." It looks sweet and is one of the cleanest installs I've ever seen. I highly recommend going with a stationary double din.

| I was a little worried about the flip, but I never use discs, even for DVD's. I have all of my media on flash storage. Most of it would be streamed through bluetooth or USB. I mean, for $100 being brand new in the box, I can't say no. If worst comes to worst I'll just sell it. | |

| Just a couple tips for anyone going to install an AppRadio (or any radio in general really). Make sure that the radio you have is the one you intend to keep for a long long long LONG time. As you can see in this picture, the cutout for my old radio was too much leaving a gap on top of my new one. You can also do what I did and wire in the subwoofer remote wire to pin F3. This makes removal much easier, and if you ever go back to stock you can still have the sub wired in. It was a dark green wire. http://archive.pac-audio.com/instructions/oem2bose.pdf Some headunits don't like having the backup camera having constant power. I wanted to have mine constantly powered so I could switch to it at any time, but my headunit kept switching the input to the camera because it had a signal (make sense?). The green wire on the taillight bulb is the one you want to use. If you need to install a relay for the parking brake wire, pins 86 and 87 are ground, 30 goes to the parking brake wire, and 85 goes to the remote wire (NOT the switched accessory). http://www.mustangevolution.com/forum/attachments/39108d1327548352-video-bypass-relay-wiring.jpg If you're using Pioneer's AppRadio, use ARUnchained instead of Pioneer's app. It will allow for full mirroring of the phone's screen. Make sure you get the correct MHL cable for your phone (Android only). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451980 | |
