| Make it, and they will buy it...... Think about that one car you see everyday, and you say to yourself "WTF is that and why"? HE will buy it, which is why they make it...... | |

| I vaguely remember seeing a new supercar on Autoblog recently with an electric supercharger. Guess I should have posted about it. | |

| Oh, forgot to mention...
Work is work - It takes X amount of power ( Watts, Volt-Amps, HP, whatever) to do something. Compressing air into the intake takes work. There is no such thing as a free lunch (despite what the Democrats say...)
An electric supercharger can only do what a supercharger does directly, or what a turbocharger does with "free" exhaust energy, and do it with the additional loss of converting mechanical energy to electrical energy and then back to mechanical energy again...
Kind of like the way electric heat is more expensive than gas heat. You can either burn gas, to heat water, to create steam, to spin a turbine, to spin a generator, to make electricity, that gets transformed to a higher voltage, that gets sent down miles of wires, that gets transformed back to low voltage, and then convert it back to heat ...
OR you can just burn the gas and make the heat.... | |
