| Do our 8th gen Rivieras have any serious electrical issues? I have a '95 with power everything and a heated seat, and if the wiring goes I want to know about how much it'd cost, if anyone has had to do that. I don't know if the new speakers I want to put in will mess with the electrical system at all, but if it does I want to know how much I'll be out. Thanks! | |

| Unless you do something radical to the stereo, and it's something that draws lots of power, it's not going to interfere with the car's electrical system. Even then, our cars make a lot of current, and should be able to keep up with most high-output stereo systems. I've added a true 300 Watt system in mine with no issues.
Not sure about the '95 year, but my '98 has had very few electrical issues. Most of my controls still work very well. I've never had to remove any wiring or electrical components other than the alternator and head lamps. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| That's good to hear, because there's an alternator with less than 500 miles on it under my hood. You already know what I plan on doing with the audio system, so I should be safe. If I put in an amp, will that draw a lot of power from the car? | |

| The kind of amp you're thinking of will be no problem. Don't worry about it. You want to start being concerned when you are throwing 400 Watts or more into subs. At that level, using a class D style amp will help you out. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Well, I don't plan on putting in subs, so I'm safe! Thanks! | |
