| Haha thanks, and thanks for the idea! It wasn't so bad, I messed up on clipping too much off the strips for fitting them a couple of times but I still have half the roll of chrome left.
I took the grille off the car and sized the strips up by the back of the fins.

| u did it exactly how i did it. when u got to the middle u centered it.. another guy that did it who hasnt been on here..did the thick ones all the way to the center then instead of centereing the last one he used the thin strips...looked very weird.
i agree with this way lookin better than his. urs def looks more seemless than mine. good work!

| Thanks again man! Isn't it weird how all the mirrored surfaces together make it look like there are two huge gaps on either end of the grille? | |

| Haha it's not like I'm gonna be reversing all over the place, or going long enough for the police to pull me over for such a stupid thing. 2 seconds and the regulars are back in. I like blue LED's. | |

| Ah well, people get away with tinting all their windows all the time here(you're not allowed to have any tint on the front windows at all), and I have a get out free card, and we know plenty of law enforcement officers personally, and I've never gotten a ticket or anything before in my life; I don't speed or anything. I'll keep a pair of 3157's in the trunk and change them back right in front of them if they really want to pull me over for it. | |

| Alright, update, turns out it was a bad bearing. The mechanic who's house I dropped my car off at said that when he spins the pulley with the belt off, there isn't the back and forth play of a worn coupler, but a grinding noise made by bad bearings(he works on differentials a lot so he knows his stuff), so that put a delay only as long as the shipping for the bearing rebuild kit. He's gonna do the coupler and bearing at the same time since the snout's off and the coupler is a slide-on repair. What we think happened: The bearing seal weakened and possibly cracked over time, leaking enough S/C oil out to set off the horrible smell I smelled a few weeks ago, the last time I really drove the car at all. As the S/C oil was leaked away from the bearing by the worn seal, it wasn't getting as much oil as it should and weakened over time, producing the gradually increasingly bad chugging "pebbles in the intake" noise. The rebuild kit I purchased and had shipped to his house has a viton seal as opposed to nitrile, so it should last much longer than stock, not that I'll see the end of this seal's life. Should have the car back at the end of the week, just in time to have it inspected(I believe it goes up 08/14/09, cutting it close!), since it was delivered at 1:30PM today. Shipped yesterday afternoon at about 3PM on 1-3 day ground shipping from Kearny, NJ, and it's up in Stormville, NY now. | |

| Hey, for everyone wondering, here's where I bought my bearing rebuild kit:
http://www.rollingperformance.com/snoutkits.htm And here's a detailed write-up provided by the site on rebuilding the snout: http://www.rollingperformance.com/snoutrebuild.htm
I recommend the second choice from the top, for $75($10 more than Nitrile) you get the Viton seal which replaces the part that wears down over time, leaking oil away from the bearings and causing the wear that makes the noise. $9 shipping, the lowest option offered, is 1-3 day ground service, so for $84 you get everything you need except the S/C-to-LIM gasket. 2 bottles of S/C oil, 2 replacement bearings, the seal, and a tube of gasket maker for putting the snout back on. They also offer ceramic ball bearings which they claim last 2-5 times longer than OEM steel bearings, but those kits go for $200.
