Benefits Of Water-Methanol Injection: Increase horsepower safely by 10-15% Lower air temperatures by 50-200+ degrees
Or would the redundancy just add to your HP #s? They said having an intercooler only helps further reduce temps. Also, the kit maybe increase hp by 10-15% on the surface, but this is the power increase just from the temp drop alone. the possibilities to make alot more power exist since a much smaller pulley can safely be used. basically it's like running a huge ass intercooler and 110 leaded race gas all the time ( when it's spraying ). Last time I bought 110 leaded for my turbo eclipse at the track it was $15 a gallon, and it did not cool my intake charge. But I could increase boost from 15psi to actually pulling the wastegate vacuum line and running the turbos max 22-23psi. I'm really excited to see what this can do for the Buick | |

| I checked the DevilsOwn site. I like their product and approach to water/meth injection. The progressive controller looks really simple to use. Which kit, though? 2 Bar Stage 2, or DVC-30 Stage 2?

| DVC-30 would be the easiest IMO. | |

| Good grief, never heard of a Riv using meth! Does it make the grille teeth fall out? | |

| This site is scary. http://v6supercharged.com.au/workshop.asp?ProjectID=8
For those with intercooler experience. How conceivable do you think it would be to mod an intercooler stack to be the host for the meth/water mix injectors?
This gets the mix on the other side of the blower preventing any rotor damage documented in the above link.

| Depending on how much the intercooler can cool the intake charge, you may not see any benefit injecting at/after the I/C. At 13 psi over standard pressure, pure methanol has a boiling point of ~180*F. Water has I higher boiling point so the more water added to the mix will only increase this temp. If the intake charge before the blower is 250-300* and the intercooler cools that to say 170-220*, you're very close to not being able to vaporize that mix. The evaporation of the liquid is what cools the charge. If the mist isnt fine enough, the blower could have trouble getting the mix to the cylinders evenly, leaning out certain cylinders and just becoming a recipe for KR. This winter, my dad and I will be attempting to build our own Water/Meth system on the Riv and have discussed many setups. As of right now, the setup in mind is one large nozzle, pre blower and at least 2 small nozzles in the LIM. The Water/Meth mix will likely wear the coating off the rotors, yes, but the injected mix seals the added clearance. As long as the Water-Injection is being run, I dont think the missing rotor coating is an issue. I can get a blower for like $30 from the local U-Pull it so Ill probably grab one or two as backups next time a S1 L67 Riv or Bonnie pop up. Injecting water/meth injection actually steam cleans the Intake, heads, cylinders and blower while cooling the intake charge 100+ degrees with the right set-up. Water-meth systems also doesn't suffer from the loss in efficiency from heat soak the way intercoolers do. I still have much to learn so I dont want to give anyone the idea that Water-Injection is better or worse than intercooling but I will definitely keep this thread updated with anything we find that works or doesn't with this setup on the L67. P.S. OBD1 Realtime Emulation tuning hardware set to arrive here tomorrow! Will be sure to let Series 1 guys know how it goes! | |

| My plan has 6 nozzles in the intake. Dave Jr doesn't want to have to remove the supercharger to service them! | |
