autometer gauge failure Empty
PostSubject: autometer gauge failure   autometer gauge failure EmptySun Jun 08, 2008 11:29 pm

anyone ever had an autometer gauge fail or know someone who has? ff so, what kind and what model (pro-comp, sport-comp, etc.) it was?

I think my boost gauge just crapped .out. Actually, I think its BEEN going out. I always blamed the hose pinching/breaking (and it did a few times) but now its completely failed.

No i've never heard of that. So you think this is the cause of your low boost readings?

if it reeds vacuum and not boost, u have a pinched line somewhere. i have a pro-comp and when i thought it was going out, the engine blew, but it works fine now. i have the procomp model

no, fixed the boost problem. Hitting in the low 10's PSI.

i found my compressor in my garage and hooked it up... it does work. It not a vac/boost gauge, just boost. (didn't know any better at the time). I think it simply cannot work in the a-pillar because the hose will kink no matter what I do. The fitting on the back of the gauge touches the a-pillar, kinking the line.

might have to switch out with one in my center console. hmmm, probably the scangauge now that I think about it.
