| anybody think that this might be possible? I found a few in some Grand Prixs at a junkyard here and I was wondering if it would be possible to hook it into the Riviera, if thats possible | |

| HUDs are awesome. I wanted one in my Riv. I like the Corvette's HUD the best cause it has more stuff going on. Additionally, I wanted to go to a junkyard and find a DTS Night Vision system. I don't think it should be a big to-do but I'm not an electrician either. | |

| Wiring I don't think would be a issue. If you could get teh wiring diagrams for the cluster on the riv . You could tap the wires which then go to the HUD. I have a GTP hud waiting to go in the car. But its on the back burner till other things get taken care of. | |

| yeah i was thinking by it being from anther 3800 the computer might be the same so it might jsut be a matter of making sure plugs are there and whatnot. i think im going to go back to the junkyard and grab it | |

| ...as long as there is actually 'real estate' under the dash pad to mount and secure it.
About the Night Vision - I was told GM's quit putting it on new cars. Any idea if that's really true?

| they have a module that sits on top of the dash but you need to have a pre-existing HUD for it (tripowerperformance.com) but theres one on ebay as well that says that if your car (GP) didnt come with one factory then it will be easy to install. who knows..but im going to find out | |

Albertj As far as I know the later year previous gen DeVille/DTS was the only model that came with it, and it was a unique feature to get people to buy. The newer DTS's do not have them, from what I can recall. The discontinuation of them stemmed from the feature being unnecessary and not working as well as you' think a night vision should work. But still a cool feature. You can tell which DTS have them by a round camera mounted on the grill where the Cadillac embelm would be embedded. This would be similar for someone who had a Park Ave. auto.howstuffwork.com The two uplevel models also boasted an industry first called Night Vision. Employing infrared technology proven in the Persian Gulf War, Night Vision used a grille-mounted camera to detect the heat signatures of objects beyond headlight range, which were projected as "virtual" images onto the windshield near driver eye level. No other car offered anything like it

| My grandfather's Cadillac SLS that he used to have had something like that, except it was infrared and heat sensing instead of night vision. I never saw what it did, but if it projects objects onto the windshield like a high-detail HUD, that's just awesome. | |

| yeah you can tell which ones have them because of that darkened circle on the grill where the cadillac shield usually sits. i heard it was an expensive option so i wont imagine finding that used would be very thrifty | |

| Anyone know how close the Riv dash shape is compared to the Regal/GP. I'm thinking if the trim panel fits or can fit then I'd share the info about adding a hud.
What Riv owner wouldn't want a hud?
