| Just wondering is the air bag light reset through the computer? If so how do you do it or much should I expect to pay for it. | |

| WHY is the light on?
point is that for certain faults the computer will reset itself after some number of cycles. IDK if airbag is one of them.
So tell us...

| The airbag lights up after a system test on startup. If it's failing every time, it looks like the light just stays on. If your problem is fixed, the light will go out. | |

| I am not really sure what the problem is the light only comes one and stays once and a while. Other times you can start the car up and it will not be on at all but you can shut it down and start it right back up and problem will still be there. | |

| My light would flash 7 times then stay on. Codes can pulled from the ECM, but an expensive Snap-on code scanner or a scanner used by the dealer in needed. If I recall correctly my code was a DTC B1026 Driver Deployment Loop Open, open in the driver side airbag circuit. (a bad connection) somewhere between the airbag and the SDM(sensing and diagnostic module), which is located under the carpet of the passenger side seat. Pins 2 and 3 on the connector to the SDM were being tightly pulled by wiring harness and created an open in one of the splices under the seat rail. For some reason the factory spliced all the wires leading to the SDM just under the seat rail. If you have aB1026 code in you SDM then move your passenger seat forward, cut the carpet around the SDM, and loosen the wiring harness to expose the wires. Pins 11 and 12 are 2 wire stubs at one end of the connector. Pins 2 and 3 are at the other end. Resplice the wires to remove the factory splices going toward the harness. good luck! Sometimes i was able to temporarily fix the problem by moving the harness around to relieve some of the tension. | |
