| the other guys im sure know more about this than me, but i'm pretty sure the L67 heads are lower natural compression to accommodate the boost so theoretically, you could have problems using the heads you have on there because of excessive compression. but wait for the other guys to tell you b/c i didn't actually try this so i dont wanna steer you wrong | |

| swaping in a slightly used L67 would probably be cheaper and easier. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | odds are very good ed morad can get you one out of a riv wires, pcm, the whole works...but if its from a riv it will have some miles on it. he always has a few low ( 30k or so) mile GTP engine lying around. check his ebay store or email him for a quote. here is one with almost eveything. | Hey thanx everyone for ideas on this topc. I guess its sumin 4 me to think about. At this point i guess its a little more involved than i thought and a little more costly too. Maybe i will jus look at another IROZ-Z to have as a tot and jus cruise the Rivi slow hence the name glsloriv. | |

| you could always pick up another 96+ riv may even find one cheaper than a engine kinda sad when you think about our depreciation level. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | the s/c only give 20hp(205-225 IIRC) on the series 1 engine, but it adds alot of weight. im sure the N/A runs pretty well. and if it makes you feel better doughboy, you have more low end torque with the 95', only its much more difficult to mod. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | quote: "Damn I could'nt imagine my rivi not supercharged..........."
The '95 N/A Rivs aren't really much slower than the SC version (Series I) from '95. The 20 hp difference is significant, but not huge. I can remember reading a review where the driver could barely tell the difference between the two. Buick fixed that problem beginning in '96. To put into perspective, a Series II supercharged Riv ('96-up) makes 20 hp more than a '95 with just the addition of a CAI tube.
With a 3.4" pulley and a few supporting mods, the Series II supercharged makes about 40 hp more than a Series I. Kinda makes you want to mod that thing, doesn't it? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| All the N/A 3800s in '95-'97 Rivs are Series II. It's the supercharged version that's a Series I. They're totally different engines... had me confused for the longest time, too. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |
