- valve covers(mat black/silver)
I wish a had access to your resources Timo, the car look better than from the factory, especially the motor. Speaking of the motor, I noticed that the valve covers are not the originals, are they made of metal instead of the OEM plastic? If so where did you get them if I may ask. Please keep the pics coming, can't wait to see the car complete!

The original OEM valve covers are cast aluminum. Not plastic.

The original OEM valve covers are cast aluminum. Not plastic. On the L67? I'm pretty sure they're plastic...

| Yeah, that back side of the C is what made me think it could only be done when the glass was out...
By the way guys, for what it's worth I just saw a TSB for ALL 1990-99 GM cars: They have changed the specification on the windshield adhesive to high-viscosity urethane, from standard-viscosity... It should make the glass easier to position without depth-blocks, and result in less or no 'squeezout' mess.

| not soo good. the sealing between downpipe and rear header is leaking. need to find a new one from here. was thinking of replacing it whit stainless steel pressed net sealing. it should hold better then the factory one. been truying to find out where the air/vacum leaking sound comes but still no luck. tomorrow or day after that i will truy to get new vacum tubes. also..from tomorrow i cant actualy leagly drive whit my car. need to get winter tyres. got still the 18''s on. one weard thing was that the fuel level shower has cone weard...it started to show full tank even tho it should be atm 15%full. will tank the car full and see what happens. maybe new fuel will help the car run better again (atm 3 months old fuel in tank). | |

That's a very common problem with these fuel gauges, Timo. For what they cost, they are built cheap, sloppy, or both... They use a "printed circuit" board in place of a real rheostat-coil, and the shaft that the float-arm pivots on can be sloppy. You'll probably find that the gauge only starts reading high when you've gotten below a 1/2 or even a 1/4 tank. If that's the case, and because even over here it's hard to find a decent price on a replacement sending unit (and not have to buy a whole fuel-pump/sender combination assembly), you'll probably want to try and fix it the way I did: . I couldn't believe that the hulking bronze bushing they used wasn't holding things together tightly, but that was my problem. After removing the sending unit from the fuel pump assembly, I couldn't even use a vise & a hammer to squish it down and remove the play between the brushes and the resistor-board. I finally realized that I could unsnap the resistor-board from the rest of the sender unit, and that would give me just enough clearance to bend the brushes toward the board location, so they would have tension against it again when I put the board back in. It cost zero dollars and worked perfectly for over 4 years. It just started to get a little loose again below a 1/4-tank after 4 & a half years... For some other info on pump & sender replacement, check this thread: https://rivperformance.editboard.com/interior-f20/fuel-tank-sending-unit-replacement-t4779.htm

| thanks.
i know...it allready was weard when i got the car. showed full tank for long time...like 200miles of driving..and then started to drop on half...and from half cone down very fast.
shame i did not know of it before. that the fault is in the connection.
i had it all apart when i replaced the fuel pump last month.

| yep....so it is in Finland and in Estonia. Guess it's also in sweeden and norway tho..
Every year from 1st detcember every car and van needs to have winter tyres(lamells(M/S tyres whit what you can drive through year but are softer) or spike tyres.
Some European contreys have spike tyres banned. If you get into a accident whitout winter tyres on winter time you get a ticket for it and incurence wont bay your car's damage.

| If you have an accident while driving without proper winter tires your insurance company won't pay for any damages.??? That's one way to make you have winter / snow tires.!!!! | |

That's one way to make you have winter / snow tires.!!!! Nice! It makes a lot of sense for bad winter areas. I wish they would do the same for seat belts around here - if you weren't wearing a seat belt during the accident, the rest of us insurance company shouldn't have to pay your medical bills, if you survived.

Today reinstalled the exhaust tip's, installed the rear parking sensores and they work great!... also changed all vacum lines whit thick ruber ones. But had to take the 18''s off for winter. new winter tyres take time to arrive but needed the car to drive home. so i buted the stock rims on(they look soo ugly...need to repaint them...maybe black whit polished lip) if tyres arrive will but the chroom STS rims back on. anyways made some pictures whit phone..not so good as whit camera...but anyways atleast something.

| ahhh hehe the ram is unos. this thing is relly mean hehe. if i remember right they dynoed whit 3 bar boost like 500hp of it. the problems what you ementioned Rick... well changed vacum lines. all the ones what where 6mm need to buy now 5mm tubes tho. also went to a car part shop and leted them order me a custom exhaust gasket. its 60mm from inside and 75 from outside if anyone needs to know.(lol they where supriced and asked wtf car i have that the exhaust gasket is so big hehe) it should arrive on next week. will see if it changes anything. the gasket leaks only on boost. Edited:About the sensors. I will have to give to a paintshop the color code so they can make me a can of spray paint. then will paint the sensors and some other places like under the trunk araund the waterstripe...and some more places. Will maybe later make a video to show how it works if anyone iis interested. also have not made a video yet of the exhaust sound. still think i need to change the rear muflers for bigger ones so it could be a bit qvaieter. cos its actualy still a bit too anoying...the exhaust tips look a bit odd tho...cos every other part of the car is curved, will properly cut them so they match the bumper line. found 1 more picture. | |
