Actually there are a couple answers... First of all, any exhaust system will get smaller as you move to the rear because the gasses are losing energy to the restrictions at each stage, and therefore don't need as large a diameter pipe. Also, the pipe sizes may affect the sound of the system as designed, as well as keep the velocity of the gasses up as the pressure drops. Certainly after the Y, each side only needs to be half as big. One other thing, though: That front pipe is not 3"... Your down-pipe is welded to your cat, not bolted like mine, but it otherwise looks to be the same pipe. It is a double-walled (nice & quiet) pipe with an I.D. of less than that 2.5" pipe behind your cat. That's why it has that "quilted" look to the outside of the pipe. This photo shows the restriction at the flex-joint, too: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24229483@N07/3552772387/in/set-72157618540359112/

| Randall, Do you have a pic of the fastener that belongs in that area.? (The Blue Circles) I ordered and received the P/N you listed and they are small black fasteners (similar to the one below, in the middle), the picture Timo showed me of the fasteners he removed are completely different. I'm at a loss at this point. If you have any photo's on file it would be extremely helpful at this point. The fastener he is looking for is the Large White one in the photo below. Can you confirm that is the correct part and maybe they (monsterpartsonline) sent me the wrong ones.!!!! Thanks, Rick p.s. These White fasteners are the only thing stopping him from finishing his car and I'm sure it is very frustrating for him, I know it has been for me trying to get these little $%^&&^%$. | |

| This is what I have that came off of mine and I used to re-install it:To install these you insert the rectangular top into the metal piece on the rocker molding and then clip it into the body. The small black one in the center of the picture is for the lower molding on the door: Molding Clips…(8/Side)…P/N…16615003The white clip shown, I didn't see at all while painting mine?!? Maybe it was used by the previous owner as a replacement? | |

| I forgot a step: To install these you insert the rectangular top into the metal piece on the rocker molding, then turn it so it catches in the metal clip, and then clip the rocker molding into the body.
I posted in my paint thread about kind of rotating the rocker to get it in and out also, that is very helpful.

| Timo, One other thing, when you rebuild your AC Compressor, can you do a "Write Up" for the rest of us that may want to do the same in the future. At least some pictures and special tools used. Thanks, Rick | |

Thanks, Rick I didn't know Timo had a bad compressor. For my 2 cents worth, considering the "special" variable-displacement function of these Harrison V-5 pumps and the special tools that invariably seem to be involved in rebuilding stuff like this, I don't think $200 is a bad price for a new one from Four Seasons ( with clutch.) Check out the price of this very similar FourSeasons-rebuilt V-5 compressor for a Skylark on eBay: LINK I know shipping to Estonia is at least $85, but it might be worth a little shopping on eBay or Ed Morad for a while... According to Rock Auto, the Four Seasons numbers for 1996 & up are 57994/Rebuilt, 58994/New, and they were used till '04 on the Park Ave, 2000-05 on the Bonneville & LeSabre. (and on Rock there was only a $12 difference.) Here's another rebuilt pump for $215, shipped to Estonia: LINK 2

| I shipped him all the seals and whatnot because he wanted to give rebuilding one a try. If it doesn't work out what you've found are excellent options. I didn't know they could be had for such a reasonable price, but I haven't had to buy one yet. The rebuild kit was less than $10.00 for seals and gaskets, but you don't know what your going to find till you open one up.!!!! | |

| it sounds smoother. and btw...had some baaad problems...6 of 12clips broke...cos...FFS the last owner had used some droor clips or dunno what the hell they are on the skirts. so it had those white clips but also he changed the holes. buted some weard red things in them where the white clips cone in. so i had no idea if the red tubes there where from factory..or he buted them. so i pushed the sideskirts on the car whit the new clips on..and they damn all broke!,,,they relly are so fragil.. i was mad as hell and pulled those damn red plastic tubes OFF!... and truyed to but it after that and it cone on perfectly!...so i had now 6 broken clips..and it took liek 2 weeks for them to arrive...thats long...so i accidently found on unos tabel some white clips...what kinda had the same point..but where buyed for a fiat to attatch some plastic peaces on it. i truyed it and it holded good. same good as the factory ones and they where even stronger. in left was the 'genius russian exowners idea how to connect a sideskirt to a car!' in midle the factory one. and on right the fiat one what i used atm. dont know how goot they will hold but will test..if im not sadisfied will order more from u rick? | |

| Think about taking the rear bumper skin off to make it easier to run the wires for the parking sensors. The foam behind the RIv's bumper is dense, I do not think the wires will go in as easy as the sensors.
Let us know.
