Im going to be installing my stereo this weekend if my speakers come as planned. I will be taking notes and pics in order to have a write up available for other Rivi owners looking to tackle the job but i got a couple quick questions. The system will consist of:

-Pioneer D3 with Ipod and Bluetooth add ons (already bypassed the ebrake lockout)
-Image Dynamics CTX 5.25" and 6x9"" coaxials
-Xtant x1001 (1600rms at 1ohm)
-Xtant x604 (80rms x 4 at 4ohms)
-Kicker hyperflex 0gauge to both amps
-JL Audio "Premium" blue RCA's
-12" Memphis M3 Mojo sub wired to 1ohm
-2.6ft box tuned to 26hz (not sure of the tuning but the box was built for the sub)

Now im not sure which PAC steering wheel interface ill need. If i do the PAC SWI-X or the SWI-PS? I remember seeing somebody on here wired one of the buttons to control HVAC fanspeed and i was going to wire the bottom left button for fan speed up/down. What wire would be needed to do this??

Also could somebody point me to the writeup on removing a factory components if their available? I can figure it out but would make things go alot smoother if i had a reference to work off of.

click "profile" above, it's sandwiched between "Members" and "private messages" Then when you're on your edit profile screen, at the top right, under the aforementioned buttons there will be an option for "signature". Kinda hard to see, gray lettering on black background.

On my 95 I just pulled the grills off of the door speakers. I ran all new wire and dynamated my doors so I ended up taking the door panel off anyway. It should all be do able with just grill removal.

I forgot to mention I'll be running new wires to all the speakers just because the factory wire is tiny and if theres any speaker or amp issues i can just backtrack my own wiring.

Just read the instructions for the SWI-PS from the PAC-Audio website. I made the 'seek up/down' button my fan up/down button instead, you can any button do anything the SWI-PS is capable of.

I don't know who keith is, wink but you can set any of the buttons to do anything. They all have different resistance values and feed down one wire. The factory radio used to interperet the signal and decide what to do, if it needed to do something in the radio, or relay the signal off to the HVAC head. Now you are using the SWI to do that for you, and it starts as a clean slate, you can tell it any of the buttons have any meaning you want.

lol sorry derek i dont know y keith came out

anyways im in middle of doing just the d3 right now.dash came apart pretty damn easy and i used a drillbit to drill a bunch of small holes on the plastic peice behind the radio for clearance and just ran the drill straight through all of em until it went all the way through. Not the cleanest but when i have the radio out to do the rest of the system ill smooth it out. Will post pics in a cppl hrs
