I wouldn't mind putting some nice aftermarket rims on the Riv, but I have 2 cars and 2 kids to spend money on too, so money for the Riv goes toward performance/handling upgrades. I think 17's is the biggest I would go for rims.

I´m new on the site, and I´ve noticed that most, if not all people have left on the original rims. Is this some kind of unspoken Riv rule?
There are lots of good reasons for sticking with stock rims, not the least of which is avoiding the "ghetto trash" look. I don't see a lot of high end cars rolling on big rims (granted, where I'm living at, I don't see a lot of high end cars ) It's always a "big playa" in a $200 Caprice.
If it doesn't look like it could be factory, I wouldn't want it on my Riv. It is very very hard to find a rim that matches the Riv's style that well.
AA - sorry, but - ewww. Especially for the "Kazera" printed into the spoke.

Yeah, you're right Jack... I mean who'd want to be rolling around in Riv that looked like this?

that's such a sick color too.. I wouldn't mind having that with a flat gloss, so it wouldn't be shiny, just kind of smooth looking

Ever hear the phrase "Friends don't let friends . . ." This is one of those things. I think they're mismatched to the vehicle and will take the Riv down a notch. They're not close to being as good as the stock 7 spoke rims. Keep looking.
The great thing about the pic is the implied ride height and fit in the wheel well. Will you have that without a drop kit?

I think it's personal taste. I like five spoke rims. You are right about the ride height though. The car pictured is much lower than stock.

I didn't say I don't like 5 spoke rims.
I think these would work better because they match the curvy elegance of the Riv's bodywork. If I had the free cash I'd consider 18's in front, 20's in back, and a 1" drop all around. And a black repaint, and a new black interior - sweeeet.

I thought I had the springs for my birfday, but I just got the cash. I ordered them last Thursday and I'm waiting "like a kid at Christmas" I have to go TDY for two weeks, so it will be the end of may.

Yep. I hope someone did their homework correctly and they fit. I think they'll look really good. Our cars set to high. I can get a good four fingers between the tire and fender trim. I didn't think the one inch drop would be enough and I wasn't sure how soft a factory Caddy spring would be.
I'm concerned about the shocks bottoming out though. We'll see.

I doubt the shocks will bottom out but I'm concerned about how much a two inch drop will affect the tilt (toe?) of the wheel. The most degrees of adjustment my mechanic could find in a cam bolt was 3 or 4. Doesn't sound like enough.

Here are the wheels I put on my 98 pearl. 16" Helo Axe $150 @ Where is the site that you can try the wheels on the car? I found one when I was looking for my wheels, but can only find ones that don't show the Riviera.[/img] jimmyriv..

No problem, James. If you find a set and want to see them on a Riv, let me know. Can Photoshop them for you in no time!
