| Hey guys, when I put a CD in my CD player today, it said error and then went blank. It didn't give me the CD back, and it's still like that. The radio and everything on the top of the center console works, but everything on the CD player is nonresponsive. Any help? Suggestions? How do I get my CD back?! | |

| Mine just started doing this as well. To get it out i usually keep hitting eject, hitting the source button, and sticking other CDs into the edge of the slot. It takes a lot of luck but eventually it should pop out. | |

| The display is completely dark but I'll try it. Don't forget, the 95's have the CD player in it's own little console down just above the cupholders. | |

| You'll probably be replacing it soon, so when you take it out, disassemble and extract the CD. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Eugh...the trunk lid actuator, the water pump, the CD player all at once...I hope this isn't a trend.
Any idea how to get the CD player out?

| my 95 does this sometimes too. i dont know what causes it but the cd just pops out on its own after a couple days and the cd player behaves for monthes and then does it again! my thoughts were to just replace the unit and at the same time delete the cassete player but crutchfield doesnt have any in stock that fit? ill deal with her eccentricities...of all things playing around with the cassete buttons made her spit it out... | |

| If it's not something I can just pop out without taking the dash apart, I'll just live with it. I won't be driving much, and my cassette player works fine which means my tape adapter will play my Zune whenever I need music. At least the upper part of the radio works!! *knocks on wood, kisses steering wheel, checks oil level, fills tires and gas tank* | |

| When your tape player goes, try an FM transmitter,

| i use my cd player like once every 3 months. i had the same problem one time though..like sum1 above posted..it just popped out on its own after a few days.
i usually hook my mp3 player up via cassete deck. i have a very nice sony adapter that i really think is better quality then a CD.
ive never had good experiences with FM transmitters and ive had like 5. they all work...but 80% of the time its a pain to get it set to the right station. and most of the time static still creeps in.

| When driving out of town you do have to keep adjusting the stations, as the frequencies are being used by local radio stations, but in an urban center where I live, I leave it on the same station without interference. The amount of static is also dependant on the quality of the mp3 itself. Its a cheap alternative when both the CD and tape playing functions on the stock unit go though. | |

| Im just gonna joke a little at first. First you take out the CD player. Then you put it on concrete and hit it with a hammer! (<--Kidding.) Well, I would suggest taking out the CD player and dissasembling it. That way you get your CD back. Then I would just replace it with an aftermarket one. This way it is actually cheaper and easier to deal with after your stock one dies. Rather than going to your local Buick dealer and ordering one. Or, getting one off of ebay. Good luck! | |

| Hey guys, if I have GeekSquad install a single DIN radio in the top module with a 1/2 blank plate and blank out the CD player on the bottom too, will I need to buy any sort of extra harnesses or equipment that they'll sneak onto the bill? | |

I don't know about "sneak" but you might find you want an interface to steering wheel controls. You also might find you want to get a recommendation for a private stereo shop before you go to Geek. Albertj

| Thanks, I just looked into those and they seem to run for about $50 on Amazon. SWI, PAC, and Scosche are the only brands that come up and there seems to be a slight delay in pressing the steering wheel button and the action happening on the radio. I'm looking at this deck, by the way: LINK | |

| If you have this fitted to the top slot where the radio is fitted. you do know the dash panel has to come out? i would not trust " the geek squad" to get the panel out in one piece (like it is meant to).
You will have to get a Buick to Kenwood interface adapter cable, also if you want to use the steering controls like has been said above and interface module there. some thing you may also need is an antenna connector converter i dont remember the connector styles.
As far as i think the dash removal/refit is the hard part, the actual swap is easy peasy!. well within your skill set i would imagine.

| I saw these on Crutchfield:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127SWIJACK/PAC-SWI-JACK.html
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120701858/Receiver-Wire-Harness.html?tp=2977
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040GM10/Antenna-Adapter.html?tp=2569
Are those what I need? The harness and antenna connector are cheap at $10 each, and the steering wheel thing I was planning on buying anyway. I might even get a bluetooth module if I can find one for cheap!
I'm sure it'll be tough to take the dashboard apart, but if I'm paying someone then they have to do it right, and they have to put it back together right. I've read some reviews on GeekSquad and it seems like they take good care of their customers and do the jobs very fast. I'll see about local places too, but it all depends on who guarantees their work the most.

| Also, do I need a mounting bracket or anything of that nature? | |
