Thanks, Guys! I got my Riv off craigslist in October for $2,300. It was a Mint! It is a Florida car (I saw an old Registration in the Manual). I am now, as in since it got cold (23 degrees), (Detroit), experiencing idle probelms in the morning at start-up. I am not a mechanic so I will have to pay but I hope youm Guys can help minimize my costs. The Service Engine Light is on and has been since previous owner. I tried the AutoZone freebie but he plugged in two different detectors and got an Error Message... he's says something is wrong with my plug... where should I go from here, Guys?

Hi Welcome to the site!

The 95 is a bit of an oddball, in that it has the OBD1.5 system. Sort of a bastard between OBD1 and 2. It has the OBD2 plug, but the system is "kind of" OBD1. To scan it properly you will need to find a someone with a scanner that can do the "transition" year.

Hey Karma! I see you have my Twin! I love this car! So are you saying I should really go to the Dealer? I think I should...

Welcome! As they said, OBD 1.5 kinda sucks. You'll need to find a shop with the appropriate computer that can read the codes. I'm guessing your MAF sensor needs cleaning to start, otherwise there are a lot of things that can make the idle rough.

Good information on the OBD 1.5... most Maycaniks will say they have the right computer even if they don't! That may be why the AutoZone's didn't work...
